Completely unprofessional.
We called to make an appointment they stated it would be for Thursday. On Tuesday night they called to let us know our appointment is for Wednesday but the part wouldn’t be in. Wendy the manager said she would call to inform us if we could still go. She never did. We had to call and she gave us the okay to head into the shop.
Once we arrived one of the techs got mad we didn’t take the car first thing in the morning, we told him we just received the call & with an attitude stated “that’s fine I won’t touch it until the morning”. So I left.
When I tried to call back I made about 15 calls for the Manager to then answer and put me on a 10 mins wait.
She didn’t care and was unwilling to help.

I don’t understand why there are so many negative reviews, my experience was amazing. The technician was very helpful and quick, the front desk were very respectful and addressed all my concerns. I was extremely worried to try this location after reading the reviews, but I’m glad I trusted my instincts, overall it was an incredible experience, thank you guys for all the help and please keep up the amazing work.

Terrible in every way possible! They replaced my windshield in January. By April, it cracked again. They came to my house to see if the new crack was ‘under warrantee’, and according to them, it wasn’t. When they left my house, they also left my cars hood open / unlatched. I got on the parkway to go to work, and my hood almost flew open! Just stupid! I wish i could give them minus zero stars!

What is the reason for your incompetence? This is the third time we were told to wait 4 hours for the tech, and you still do not have the correct molding to fix the windshield. Why? You had us wait on 3 different dates for 4 hours at a time only to call at the last few minutes to say “whoops, we still don’t have the correct molding, so you have to reschedule!”
We received your email at 7:11am to let us know that we should expect a tech by 1:30pm today. I called at 12:54pm and spoke to Jamar who had no answer on why this appointment was already canceled. Then he had me call Westbury to speak with his supervisor, Wendy, who also had zero knowledge. Wendy claims to have called my husband but read off an incorrect phone number. When I questioned her on it, she insisted that she left a voicemail for my husband, but she read back the phone number as 516-***-6001 and his phone on the account is 516-***-6061. She refused to acknowledge that she was wrong. I asked for her manager. Then her district manager, Damaris, got on the phone screaming at me to calm down. I told her that it was her and her staff’s incompetence that continues to keep us from getting a simple windshield replaced. For God’s sake, your advertisement says “Safelite repairs, Safelite replace.”
Bottom line is Safelite failed to do its job and now we will go the competition. I will never recommend Safelite to anyone ever again! Your staff needs training on courtesy and knowledge of appointments. How dare you have us sit at home waiting for a tech 3 times and cancel 3 times! You are the definition of INCOMPETENCE!

This was a pleasant situation due to a young man by the name of Hassad. Very professional and made sure I was satisfied with the work. And making sure all my questions were answered that I asked!

I didn’t get a traditional service here but… I got a flat tire and pulled over right across from Safelite. Not knowing how to change it myself, I asked the guys there to help me out. Two of them came over and not only changed the tire, but would’ve patched it if it had been repairable. I tried to tip each of the guys $20 as they left, but the second refused to take it. Really appreciated these guys going out of their way to help me (and not accepting much money) when they didn’t have to!!

Bad workmanship and hiding a problem: When picking up my car I found that my rear view mirror was no longer able to stay where it was placed and just flopped around. What was really annoying is that it had been damaged and left looking like it was okay until I tried to adjust it to see out the back window. This was a simple repair once I got the car home, but someone else would be screaming in your service peoples faces and rightly so. It was the result of either improperly taking the mirror off or putting the mirror back on the windshield causing a spring clip inside the mirror to pop loose. A good and experienced technician could have repaired the problem. A bad technician should have reported the problem, costing Safelite a few hundred dollars to replace the mirror, but doing the right thing for the reputation of Safelite and pleasing the customer.
Sloppy workmanship: When picking up my car, walking up to it and finding it parked in the only handicap parking spot, was the beginning of a disappointing experience. Before I got to touch the car I could see a piece of window seal left on top of my car and my registration sticker was tapped back on with dirty torn pieces of tape that were starting to come off. I also found that the driver's side front corner of the window seal wasn't completely on the windshield and had to be pushed to the correct position. The passenger's side front corner of the wind seal wouldn't stay down flush on the glass. Don't Safelite's mechanics get trained to check their own work when they finish in the interest of quality?
By the way, you can't have a mechanic so bad that other workers aren't aware of it. After seeing so many problems you may be sure the last people I want touching my car to correct them would be the same people responsible for creating and then leaving them for me to find.
Safelite needs a qualified manager and a trained mechanic to come into its Westbury store and retrain its workers.
I dropped off and later picked up my car having never met the technician who worked on my car. Considering the technician's workmanship it's not surprising.

Quick and easy process. HOWEVER, no one told me my inspection sticker was VOIDED and damaged during the process. Even though it was damaged, the sticker was still placed back on the windshield and it was not noticeable that it was damaged with a quick glance. Now I have a $50 ticket and I have to do a new inspection. Although there is a disclaimer BEFORE the service in the email confirmation, you should actually confirm that the sticker was damaged once customer receives the car again. Placing the sticker back on the windshield will not let the customer know that it was damaged.

Horrible!!! My sister went there and they kept her new car for over a week and never replaced her window. If I could I would put 1/2 star or none. Wendy over the phone is just a nasty individual and has NO customer service skills .

I've brought my car to Safelite Westbury in the hopes that they will fix my window that was smashed. It was a brand new car. I felt violated for having someone sneak inside my car. I had a good conversation with Raylan and gave me a lift home. I decided to leave my car at the shop thinking it will only take a day to fix my car. Next thing you know I got a call saying i need regulator and they have to order it. I was feeling the pressure from her asking me for confirmation (insurance is suppose to call them) so i end up saying, im just going to pay for it just fix the car as soon as possible. Then I received a call from this lady WENDY again. I do not know who Wendy is but she is not the person I spoke to in the shop, she sounded rude and made me feel like I am under her mercy to fix my car. She sounded authoritarian, it is not the customer service I expect to receive. So far my car was not fixed and it has been 6 days since i brought the car to that place. No glass, no regulator, my back door is dismantled at the moment, and the automatic button to open the car is not functioning. I wonder what they did to my car in 6 days that it was with them. I decided to pull my car out of the shop and have it serviced somewhere else. WENDY needs training in customer service. She does not know how to communicate with customer or how to make the customer feel at ease being in that situation. She should not be making phone calls or receiving phone calls. She made the process more difficult and stressful.
