Easy to access, large parking area. Very kind and friendly staff. Helpful staff and well lighted main reception area. Large well furnished rooms and comfortable beds. Things to purchase and the breakfast is tasty with great portions. Many Drinks to choose from, Hot or cold. Comfortable seating pleasing to all. Great for families and guests.

Wish the stay could be better. They have decent size kitchen in the room everything that you need to stay for 1 night but why. I knocked down 1 star was because the night I stayed there they were doing maintenance with the sewer line. With that they left a note saying let the water run for hot water. I did for a while but to no avail. No hot water for showering so big bummer everything else was fine. Definitely better than any other hotel. Other than that the hotel is pretty nice compared to others

The Five Star is my go-to when visiting West Point. The staff is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to serve guests with their fantastic hospitality. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is well-maintained and a great place for an extended stay, as they have a living area and good size kitchenette, which is great for an individual or family. The location as the closest off-post hotel is also a huge plus for convenience. The hotel is also very secure. The breakfast is excellent, to include a hot breakfast, many options for food and drink, and great coffee. The interior has been updated and is very nice, with many new finishings and furnishings in the room. I always enjoy my stay at the Five Star and can't recommend it enough to anyone visiting the area looking for a quiet, friendly, clean, and safe place to stay with top-notch customer service and such an amazing location. I can't wait to return to this hotel in the future and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The hotel shines on its location and its staff. Both the day and night shift staffs at the front desk were great and helpful. The unit is huge comparing to typical hotel. Unit was clean and deco is ok. I have been to many timeshares and the Army hotel resemble to a typical timeshare more than a hotel like Marriott or Hilton. Free breakfast was good and adequate. It had both typical bakery, cereal and also hot items like sausage and egg. The bathroom plumbing is a little old and could need some repair or replacement. I have a great and quiet time staying in the Army hotel and I would certainly stay there again if needed to visit the area.

Checked in at main lobbby, and was given a room in lobby, "Beat Navy Lodge" Parking was awful. Had to wander around to get into building. Be prepared to carry luggage up flights of stairs. In the room, hvac fan was very loud. Then the wi-fi Internet wasn't working. Called front desk and was told that was a common problem, but They had no solution. They had to call the manager to find out how to get tech support. After several phone calls, they got service provider to call me. However, After telling me to reboot my computer (despite there being no connection on any of my devices), the tech support simply hung up while I was rebooting. They never called back. I Couldn't use my phone or Hotspot due to poor cell coverage for anyone who didn't use Verizon.Went to take a shower. Discovered there was no temperature control - only scalding hot water. Called front desk (twice) to report the problem - could not get any answer).Poorly maintained, poorly managed facility. I checked out two days early and relocated to a hotel in Fishkill (14 miles away) rather than continue to stay at the Five Star Inn!

Wonderful location nice clean large rooms. Excellent free breakfast options, went looking for an extra blanket late last night and there were none to be found?

We spent almost three weeks and this hotel, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the staff was terrific meeting our needs. Big thanks to the managers Alvaro and Libby, the front desk crew, and the fantastic maids for their genuine hospitality, making our stay feel like home. I will define come back to stay here!!

We enjoyed our stay at the Five Starr Inn! We stayed for a few days and the room was spacious, clean, and well laid out. It was pet friendly and there were a lot of places to take the dogs on walks. The price was reasonable, and everything was safe and maintained COVID standards. The staff were amazing- very friendly towards me and my dogs. We felt like we were home, even though we were only there a few days!

My husband and I were very impressed by the excellent service. The managers, front desk crew and cleaning ladies make us feel like home. The rooms have a beautiful view of the Hudson River.

I was very impressed with this hotel. I would stay here again. Veronica’s review was spot on. I will reiterate the tricky access to the hotel. There’s a grey guard gate and he will lower the barrier for entrance and exit. Most times I just pulled up and just held my ID out the window. One guy came down and asked “can I help you” I just told him I was staying here. One other thing. The controls for the radiator are on the wall by the AC units. It turns high/low. Entrance to the base was easy with a CAC card.

I wasn't sure what to expect and ended up being very impressed! Rooms, available for civilians and military, have a living room (sofa, armchair, table and chairs, a few side tables, TV and DVD player with functioning remotes, closet space), a kitchen (with a small stove, full-size fridge, microwave, pots and pans, dish soap, paper towels, silverware, pod coffee maker, etc), a bathroom, and a bedroom (2 closets with ample space, awkward drawers, even another TV)! Yes, you read right, 1 room is like 4 small rooms. And a great view of the Hudson! I knew of people staying at the Thayer paying more than double for half as much (or less... some did not even have a microwave in the room).Breakfast is included. Presently they're renovating the hot breakfast area. The temporary situation is asking the front desk staff for cold or room temp stuff (e.g., coffee, juice, cereal and milk, bagels and cream cheese, even gluten-free Bob's Red Mill Oatmeal cups--my gluten-free self has never been able to eat heartily at a cold breakfast hotel before, so major kudos for including this). Seems you can ask for relatively limitless amounts and they'll provide it to you in a paper bag with plastic silverware if you'd like.Other things to note: there's a train feels like every 30min even overnight so bring earplugs; rooms surprisingly have window AC/heat units (I visited in October, which is pretty temperate, but kept nicely warm for 45F nights) and some walls have old school-looking wall radiators; pulling into the parking lot might be intimidating the first time--know that you have to present your IDs to the guard (everytime you return, too) and they will let you through the chained roadblock, lol; you can walk from the Hotel to the Westpoint visitors center and Westpoint museum; you are maybe a 3min drive from the entrance to the Westpoint campus (everything is very close); there's a Farmers Market just on the other side of the main road on Sundays (idk seasonality).Fyi, we did use the kitchen. The stove is small and a bit tricky but the pots and pans worked great! It'd be nice if the hotel provided a small olive oil and/or salt'n'peppa for cooking but we made due with tiny butters from breakfast and bought a cajun spice mix which we left there.

Convenient location and friendly staff, but the place is in complete disrepair. Curtains falling off the window, shelves falling out of the wall, wrong number of dishes for the room (5 bowls. 4 cups, and 3 plates?), broken and scuffed furniture, no sponge or brush for the dishes, bizarre room layout, etc. From the state of our room, it's hard to trust them when they say they "cleaned extra for COVID." In a pinch it certainly works, but for the price I'd look elsewhere.

This place is as expected. I believe it would be perfect for families who are in the process of moving. It's basically like a mini apartment full with everything.
