I was very impressed with the care and kindness the doctors and other staff members showed both my dog and me. They are very organized, and thorough. Made me feel like they really cared about my dog. Called me right away with results and emailed them to me when I asked. I am very pleased with VMCLI

Dr. Sarah was amazing! Her knowledge was comforting as we made decisions for our sweet girl. Her compassion and kindness was very much appreciated. The staff was also kind. Our comfort level of leaving our girl with them was a 10/10.

I called in advance to make sure the proper doctor would be available to help my African Gray. A staff member said, "Yes, come down. We can see you." I drove 30 minutes. When I got there they told me their doctor wasn't going to be in until tomorrow. Seriously messed up!! They deserve ZERO STARS!

This place is a no-nonsense emergency and specialty hospital. They have the best specialty Doctors and the best equipment hands down. With that said, they price accordingly... I have to say - I - almost needed medical attention when I saw the bill! So, if you're squeamish, poor, or looking to have your hand held and a shoulder to cry on, go someplace else. If you want the best possible care for your beloved pet on Long Island, (and probably in the top 10 in the country) go to VMCLI. In this day and age of skyrocketing health care costs, you wouldn't think of not having health insurance for yourself... be a responsible pet owner and do the same for your pet! The policies are not all that expensive at all.

Misdiagnosed my dog and refused to accept accountability for the mistake resulting in my dog having undergone invasive surgery for no reason. When they were confronted about this it was a simple shoulder shrug. Sad to see a place like this operated in such a manor

I brought my dog here and they had excellent customer service. Front desk staff was kind and explained the process well. I spoke with doctor about my dog and she was very transparent and honest about possible outcomes and my choices. I want to add, yes this place is expensive, but all the vets recommended this place because they have many different specialists for your animal in house. Can't thank them enough.

When I read all the comments on here, I have to say I was stunned. But I wanted to write a review because so many negative comments were really just unfair. This is probably the best emergency vet practice I've ever encountered in over 40 years of having cats and dogs. And I've been to quite a number of them. Nowhere else will you find an internal medicine department and a neurology department, something that was paramount to me in trying to diagnose my cat's very severe illness. Dr Hillock ordered all the right tests, including a PCR test, to try to understand what was happening. He is top notch, the best of the best. He is like a scientist/veternarian, the same quality I always look for in my own medical doctors because they are the ones that see what others do not. He is also very personable and speaks extremely well, able to communicate complicated facts in an easy to understand manner. This is because he knows his stuff. The rest of the staff, especially the vet techs I encountered were also superb. The office staff are all very friendly and provided me with any paperwork needed. The facility itself is spotless. Even though the practice is one hour from where I live, Dr. Hillock would always be my first choice should any other emergencies arise. One cannot do better!

Be prepared to empty your bank account. This place is definitely in it for the money and not saving pets. Before treating your pet you are hunted down to pay in full. Many people were there and the comments the same about what they were bring charged. Their own doctor kept reiterating how expensive they are.
Unfortunately, some times you have no choice. They prey on people knowing many port lovers decide with their heart.
Answered their questionnaire about their service. Mentioned how they rip people off and they respond thanking me for my kind words. More proof everything is automated and not about the pets.

PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE. They take advantage of people in difficult situations. I brought my 6 year old pit mix there and they talked me into doing X-rays and a CT scan just to have no answers as to what is wrong. I paid 6k for terrible care. Astronomical pricing compared to all other vets and don’t take care of your pet until you leave a deposit. They kept my dog all day waiting to have these tests done and when I picked her up she had poop all over her bottom. They don’t care about the animals they treat they just see them as dollar signs. Please go to a different animal hospital, I wish I had.

I came in last night after a very traumatic experience. I was pinned against a fence while my dog was dragged under and mauled by two other dogs. The doctors and staff were absolutely wonderful, and I am very grateful for how I was treated in the midst of the emergency. Unfortunately I was suffering from a panic attack from what had occurred and without hesitation they gave me a room to stay in for privacy, water, sugar since I hadn’t eaten and was faint, ice packs, and tissues while I was waiting to go to the emergency room. They handled the situation extremely professional while taking care of my dog who underwent stitches and a tube put in his neck. Thank you all so much for taking care of my dog and I. I am very grateful.

We came through triage and vet techn Dan was extremely helpful, caring, and understanding of our concerns and Jackson's issues. Along with the very helpful doctor hutt.
The er was able to get Jackson an emergency consult with dr Barrone (neurologist) which could have taken months to get seen. Dr Barrone was knowledgeable and had a clear path forward for IVDD. So thankful for her expertise.
Vet technician Jacqui was phenomenal and spent 40 minutes walking me through the discharge then followed up multiple times after we were discharged. She was real and related to me on so many levels.
It's going to be a long road for Jackson but we are on the right track with the folks at VMcli. I would like to note yes this service is expensive but you get what you pay for and we are happy we have a strong support system while we navigate Jackson's new normal. Thank you VMCLI!

I was referred there by my vet for a complicated dental surgery. Guess what?
Called them every day for 5 days , no one picked up and no one called me back! They say leave a message and we will reach out.
IT NEVER HAPPENED.
Extremely unprofessional and also, they charge !!!!!300$!!!!! initial consultation fee!
Ended up finding a much better clinic in PA with great reputation. Happy they didn’t pick up now.

There is zero bedside manner at this facility and disgusting is the only word I can use to describe my experience after making a difficult decision to have to put my cat to sleep.
Myself and another family member got brought into the grievance room where we were told our cat would be brought into shortly so we could spend time with him and say goodbye. In the five minutes I left the room to ask about getting two sets of clay paw prints made, my other family member was approached by a staff member demanding a credit card for payment immediately. Payment wasn’t a problem and I’m unsure why they approached him instead of waiting for me as I was the one who brought my pet in and had signed all the paperwork. He was already emotionally distraught from the situation and had said he’s happy to pay but his wallet was in the car and could we please see our cat first and handle the billing at the end since this was an emotional time. The staff member told him that we weren’t allowed to see our cat until our bill was paid. I understand having a policy to make sure you’re paid for services rendered but to tell someone you’re withholding their dying pet of 15 years midway through a euthanization visit is utterly disgusting. We are already emotionally fragile people being in this situation, being spoken to like that is cruel and the poorest excuse for behavior I’ve ever heard.
Once the bill was paid they eventually brought our cat in and explained to us we could spend as much time with our pet as we wanted and to ring the bell when we were ready to say goodbye. When we did finally ring the bell and someone came, both myself and my family member warned them that they should check the catheter site to ensure it’s secure because he was squirming and attempted jumping a handful of times but was stopped. Instead of listening to us we got zero warning that the process was starting as she said it would be fine and immediately started trying to inject the first medication into his catheter, which was leaking. It ended up spilling everywhere, and ultimately our cat had to be taken into the back to get it put back on. When they returned him they had wrapped his entire leg up to the base so that he couldn’t even walk. When he got out on the ground he was crying and crawling while his foot dragging behind him. I ended up ringing the bell again immediately to start the process because it was traumatizing to see him in that state. The vet came back in the room to start the process again, quickly explained this time there’s three medications to inject and that the process is painless and then immediately started. After injecting the medicine she checked and told us he still had a heartbeat somehow and she needed to go get more medicine and left us with our cat in the middle of a euthanization process to sit there for several more minutes before coming back and finishing the process.
When it was all done, while wrapping our cat up in the blanket she informed us we’d need to pay an extra $18 for the paw print up front and then asked if we could get the door. She did not cover my cats face at all and when I got up and turned around all I saw was his lifeless face and open eyes directly in front of me. I understand accidents happen and it is a stressful situation for everyone involved but as a grieving family who just lost one of its members— this facility traumatized me during this experience. Between being told we couldn’t see our pet in the middle of a crisis until we paid a bill in full, the horrible last moments with my pet watching him crying and crawling on the floor because they immobilized him and then being nickle and dimed for a paw print within seconds of our pet passing, I can honestly say the experience in this facility was one of the worst days of my life. Losing a family member is never easy. Being treated this way while going through that process is incomprehensible.
