“The store is loaded with all kinds of hobby merchandise, from paint by numbers, metal detectors , too dolls ,doll houses and doll furniture and trains all sizes and accessories. The salesperson is very knowledgeable also.”
“If you're in the market for food+veg, there's Sunflower Market or Sundrost Farms in town. But what about all those other must-have home essentials you might need? Then you come here. This Houst & Son on Tinker St in the heart of Woodstock is independently owned- falling within the fold of the True Value brand. We've relied on these folks for years especially when we've stayed at a local B&B with access to their grill then come here for a bag of charcoal briquettes. We'll still get those- but now as things have changed for us, we're getting kitchen items, cast-iron skillets, etc to use on weekends when we're in town. The right side of Houst is dedicated to kitchen items such as cutlery, cleaning supplies, pots+pans, serving spoons, welcome mats+other outdoor items. The left side has painting supplies, plumbing products and other DIY projects that need seeing quickly. For bigger home improvements, ask. Price? It's Woodstock. I'm not driving out of my way to save a a few dollars. But, these folks have a rewards system which you can accumulate and use for future purchases. As far as service, it's unbeatable.”
“Sales staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They didn't waste our time. They showed us their stock, knew availability. They compared products more productively than an internet search.”

“The best local hardware store. Extremely helpful staff. Very clean store. Prices are average to other hardware stores. The only difference at this hardware store you get better quality help from the staff and a great product you and your family can count on.”

1122 Ulster Ave, Kingston“Needed a new washer ASAP! Went to Home Depot in Kingston and met salesman Chuck! What a great guy! Helped us out and was able to get us a new washer with no issues. It’s always hard when you have to spend hundreds of dollars when you didn’t plan on it but Chuck made the whole process and comfortable. Too bad for Home Depot that he’s retiring. Again, what a cool and great guy!”
6:00 AM - 10:00 PM
901 Frank Sottile Blvd, Kingston“Aside from a hardware store in Woodstock, NY by us, we just needed other items and more variety that only a big-box offers. This Kingston, NY Lowe's is about a 15ish minute drive from where we were at and checked most of the boxes. For a weekday afternoon, this Lowe's was a breeze. No hoards of people around you and you had the aisles to yourself- but floor sales associates, were almost nil. When you finally got someone, service was helpful and to the point- including the self-check cashier who acknowledged hubs' military discount when she had to swipe a barcode. We didn't have major issues. It's easy-going here and we took advantage of some sale items with a good price tag. I like their products- but as far as on-the-spot service, you gotta search for it here.”
“Angela & Drew in the Painting Department are amazing. They took care of our painting needs. Very knowledgeable about products. We will definitely come back here with all our home improvement needs !!!”
“I've been coming to this Lowe's for years for all of my household projects. It's over 90° and we had to move 25 heavy boxes of flooring into our truck. George and Dennis came to the rescue and loaded the entire truck. They were so helpful and friendly. It's hard to find good help these days and these two were top-notch!”
“Good selection of what you need, and friendly and helpful staff don't forget to go upstairs for the selection of kitchen goods! Always my first choice for hardware...”
