Can things get worse at this place? I used to have all my labs done by one doctor but now I have two doctors the doctors refuse to refill meds unless you see them constantly when there is no need when I’m in maintenance medicine I have been on for years. One doctor will tell you he can't treat you for this, but you need to go to another doctor for something simple the original doctor ordered in the past.I had an ultrasound on my gallbladder...the technician said "you dont have any problems with your gallbladder, these doctors love to tack on test to the bill"Urgent Care...god help you...I went to urgent care for my knee which was twisted during a slip in the yard. Urgent Care looked at my knee, x-rayed my knee, and told me I had a bone spur and would probably need surgery. I went for a second opinion from a top ortho doctor at White Plains Hospital. He said what they told me was garbage. I just sprained ligaments and sent me to PT and I was fine a month later.and now the billing insanity... I've been a patient there for two decades and suddenly I get a multi-hundred dollar bill. It looks like they are adding to the bill to get more out of you than the insurance company negotiated. They are NOT upfront about this at ALL. A GP visit shouldn't be $500 for the entire 15 minutes they spend with you. The insurance negotiates the fee with WestMed, but it looks like WestMed has skyrocketed the cost of an appointment over the negotiated fee, so you get hammered by the additional cost. I have the best top-of-the-line heath insurance. The lab is even worse, sometimes you wait an hour for an an appointment you already have, do not get your labs at lunch time or you wait even longer. Lately, the phlebotomist just doesn't care and jams the needle into your arm. In my entire life, I have never had such a painful draw. It still hurts an hour later, certainly going to leave a big bruise. The quality of care has gone downhill, the nurses never listen when you request a refill and send the pharmacy request anywhere but where you ask. I have even had nurses leave me rude callbacks. Then come the lab bills from the outside lab company, each tube of blood is billed separately. I ended up with 4-5 lab corp bills on top of the jacked-up over-the-top negotiated rate with Ciga, so now we are up to about $400 out of pocket for 1 appointment.I think my rant is done and I am going to find a new set of doctors who actually care.My cat's vets provide better care than WestMed

Went today 1/3/2024 . For a follow up appointment . For my husband went to main desk to check in . One of the people behind the desk was spraying Lysol all over in the air on every thing . Did not stop while people were walking by . I got an immediate headache and felt sick . I understand the reason for keeping everything sanitary. But she was just spraying. You never know if anybody has an allergy. Someone should teach the staff how to use spray . Other then that the staff was very nice

First time trying to get my mammogram at Westmed Radiology in White Plains 210 Westchester Ave. Got appt for 8:15 got there 8:00-m early for paperwork, waited there 45 mins with no one letting me know the technician wasn’t in yet. The rude receptionist tells me they are not responsible to make appt. I should’ve said something when I was there 30 mins in, but gave them the benefit. Finally after an hour and 15 mins they told me the machines are not operating. Needless to say. I put on my clothes and walked out.. I’m sure if this happened to any of them they would have exploded with anger. Keep away from this place. Well I should say if you DONT value your time, go right ahead and make an appointment. If you DONT want accurate test results Terrible terrible place!!**I should’ve listened to the reviews. REALLY MAD AT MYSELF FOR THAT!!**

I had an appointment with NP E. Baranaskas in Dermatology at 3:00 pm. I arrived 2:45 pm. I was admitted at 3:12 pm by an assistant and asked to undress and wait. No one came to see me or to let me know why the provider was late. I left without being seen at 3:39 pm. The provider had yet to show up.

My husband was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer and, after waiting a week for a PET scan appointment that was supposed to be at 1 pm today, he was contacted this morning by a Westmed technologist, and told that the appointment had been cancelled. Apparently, the individual who scheduled the appointment did not get the proper authorization from his insurance company in time. Additionally, someone was supposed to call him on Friday, 7/28/23, to reschedule, however no one did.To say this is outrageous is an understatement. He needs to have this test done as soon as possible to determine if the cancer has spread, and this issue with the insurance authorization should have been settled last week, when the appointment was scheduled. Instead, the appointment was cancelled and he was told by the technologist (who called at 8:40 am the morning of the appointment) that he needed to call the doctor's office to see about getting the authorization. Not only is this NOT his job, but I he took a day off from work and was about to drink a bottle full of barium when he got the call. He was told that once Wested gets the insurance authorization, they can squeeze him in for the following day, however nothing can be done about today's appointment, as the injection that is needed can not be ordered until there is insurance approval. Now he will have to take yet another day off from work, as the test will take a few hours. Is this how Westmed now treats their cancer patients?? His cancer could be spreading and delay can be deadly. Shame on you Westmed for treating him this way!!

I used to like this facility but I can no longer recommend this facility. I am unable to make appts with specific department because they don’t make appts online or through the phone service; there is literally no way to call them to make appts even though they continue to say I can (I spent 2 weeks trying to schedule a appt that was later cancelled). When I am contacted to reschedule my appt (which happens more often than not), they refuse to call me at a different time even if I say I cannot discuss. I have gotten billed incorrectly several times which takes weeks to get fixed. I had a minor in office procedure which I was told would be covered be insurance. I was also not told it would be sent for biopsy until I was leaving and I was not allowed to leave without consenting to the biopsy (which I was not told was required before the procedure). I now have a $400 surprise bill for this minor procedure. Practices like this with so much bureaucracy and surprise billing are the reasons why individuals do not seek preventative medical care or treatment for pain and conditions. Do not go to this facility unless you like surprise bills, want to pay too much because of incorrect bills, or want to spend days/weeks of your time trying to schedule appointments.

WestMed upcoded a straightforward 5-minute visit to a more complex visit, causing hundreds more dollars of bill. Billing department could not help. Appealed to the customer relations at Summit Health but they acted no more than a liaison. Will keep fighting the fraudulent practice.

Westmed is not the same back then less than 5 minutes you'll being call in to see the doctor. I never had to wait for an appointment so long. Now you're lucky if you get an appointment in 2 months which is unacceptable. I'm getting to the I feel nobody care. Every since they xhange hands it's been for the worst. Imagine money over good patient care which I don't see here. Westmed should of stayed the way they was this summit health is a joke.Back then you never had to make an appointment for the lab ridiculous.

I was there to see a hematologist. The location is similar to most Westmed Medical Groups. I am pleased with my doctors there, the nurses and receptionists.

I've been a long time participant of the Westmed group and it has been an exceptional experience. With all my medical needs located in one group my information is easily accessed by all providers in the group so my care is comprehensive. I have never felt in better hands.

Existing patient here. Billed my insurance $1200 for 15 min appt for suspected yeast infection. Doctor sent 3 swabs to the lab. They billed for things like blood draw and 7 lab charges. I didn't have blood taken.. Obviously the 4 other charges are fraudulent. Thankfully only had my copay but they billed me over a thousand when I had a high deductible plan for an annual preventative in the past. They suck.
