I've had nothing but problems with this bank but tonight was the last straw. It's the Friday before Christmas Eve and they were supposed to be open till 6. We live in upstate New York and they decided to close early Because of a little snow.I worked out in the weather all day and nobody sent me home early. I can't imagine how many people who work crazy hours or live paycheck to paycheck will have this ruin their holiday because some snowflakes can't do their job. Pathetic in my opinion.

Sincerely, I Never had any issues. Great service! The Representatives are always friendly and attentive. Professionalism. Of course, after the Pandemic, I noticed, ESL ended up with a shorter list of employees. Yet, that's everywhere!!!! ?

People are really nice here. Pretty high volume branch, but moved quickly enough. Just basic transactions (deposits and balances) so I cna't speak to some of the loan reviews, but I like the fact that their accounts are truly FREE and basic checking has no minumum. Not the case for all banks

I wish I could give 0 stars!!! Was trying to refinance my car and had to go here twice. First time I contacted customer service before going so I made sure I had everything prepared and they told me nothing needed, just go into the branch (in Webster NY). Then I go there, waited over 30mins bc they only had one banker staffed. Get in and they said I needed a formal payoff letter and can’t do anything without it (would have been nice to know in the first place). So I get that, go back today and I get the same woman, Wilma. She enters the details and I get a 3.5% interest rate (ok great!). So she proceeds to mess up the final steps and said she had to start the application over and they would have to repulse my credit but it’s ok bc it wouldn’t impact anything (ok fine). So she does, interest rate comes back at 4.09% (NOT OK)! So she tells me it was because the first time didn’t have the vehicle information (which I know was a lie because I watched her enter it the first time and said it came back approved with the initial rate). So I ask for a manager (enter Angela). She gives me the same BS about preapprovals not always matching the final approval even though I told her Wilma messed up and then it came back higher. So now my credit got pulled twice bc or Inept wilma and potentially screwed my chances for a better rate elsewhere. I am so mad I may completely switch banks bc of this. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE CLOWNS AND IF YOU DO, WHATEVER YOU DO, RUN IF YOU GET WILMA!

I never use a bank for "normal" banking; deposits, withdrawals, transfers. I use the bank for all other uses; loans, mortgage, etc. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The owners bonus is also famtastic. Been with ESL almost 40'years. Never an issue.

Terrible STAY AWAY. I was given false information from an employee on when a payment was due and they sent it to my credit report!!! When I called them with this issue they couldn’t help login to pay and they were very rude. They blamed it all on me when it was clearly they. I have never had anything reported to my credit or any problems with an institution besides them. Go to chase !!! I love them.

This experience is why I'm only giving them an alright review. They have good face to face customer service, but miserable over the phone and chat customer support. I'm trying to do a simple task of moving money from this bank into my online bank where I get a better interest rate, and the call center reps hung up on me and are pointing me in 100 different directions to resolve this simple issue. This is the whole point of an online bank. They're a decent brick and mortar bank, but ESL's weakness is online and over the phone customer support. I have experience in an IT call center and developer, so I'm a qualified review source. Only intend on using this bank if your primary service is face to face. Also only use this bank if your company doesnt offer direct deposit for paychecks. They're a good face to face service bank, but againt this bank's weakness is online and over the phone customer service. This is the reason why I switched to an online bank.

Rude, unfriendly, and literally spent 3 hrs on the phone and a half hour waiting in branch all over a $10 fee they would only accept a Cash payment for...... When I asked to close my account they hung up on me. Completely ridiculous, I highly suggest banking somehwhere else...

For only being a bank out of Rochester they are a very beneficial and reliable branch to affiliate with. Never had any financial problems and for the most part the banking service is to par, but occasionally the tellers can be moody or not in any real mood to talk. Overall pretty reliable Rochester Bank service, and would highly recommend starting a checking account with them over any large bank corporation.

I had a horrible experience with ESL. Not only due they wear very skimpy/ revealing clothing, they also seem to think you're a bad guy by asking strange questions pertaining to the source of the money. They misspelled the account number, misspelled my name on some free checks, and put a neighbors address instead of mine for when the other checks came in the mail. Talk about misspelling! The customer service makes you wait on hold on the phone and listen to horrible "hold" music, if it can even be called that (I think it was rap). They should use classical music instead. They then made me call the check printing company to correct their mistake.

It's the typical credit union. The entrance off of Ridge Road is a left turn, then quick right turn into the credit union's parking lot.

Get credit union.... Very helpful
