A familiar and convenient location. The current ownership is barely ok. The store is poorly organized and needs an upgrade.

Stay away from this store! Ridiculous pricing, extremely rude staff, particularly the manager(s) and not to mention the store is always crammed full of employees unloading product. I've been there at varying times of day during various times of the week always struggling to get through most of the store due to blockades of inventory and employees. The few things the store had going for it, namely the donuts and meat are either not available or of much lower quality than they used to be. One thing that particularly bothers me during shopping experiences there is the amount of negativity from employees in general. Most of the staff is older and acts as if they are owed something by gracing you with their presence there. Management is especially crotchety, they are rude to employees and customers and create a very unwelcoming atmosphere. The few younger members of staff, mostly high schoolers, are the delightful exception for me at least, they have always been very polite and used excellent customer service acumen. It's a shame they constantly are yelled at and talked poorly of by management in front of customers. Considering Piggly Wiggly's reputation for innovating the grocery scene as a whole, I find this state of affairs sad. I really hope they can get some kinder, more engaging staff, particularly the management. Feeling respected and welcome as a customer goes a long way for me, i'd even look over some higher prices or less than fresh produce for a friendly neighborhood grocery store. Without this change, I don't see this store going anywhere but under. They certainly lost my business.

I'm glad there's a place in this part of Watertown I can get groceries and do some bottle deposits.I do however wish that the employees at least tried to fake being pleasant.Everytime I'm there, 50 cents into my bottle deposit the machine needs to be emptied and most employees seem very annoyed with this.I don't think I've ever seen more than two different employees ever smile in the 2 years I've been going. As someone who works in retail, I understand it's not always easy to smile every moment of your work day. But I've learned it puts customers off if the customer service is not giving a single "have a nice day," "thank you," or "hello," let alone a smile.

Produce low rate of lateBottle return is much like milk shake machine late night at McD'sOUT OF ORDERSeems that the teenagers up front playing invisible laser tag were to busy to empty the machine. For such a high priced market one might think the people up front ( especially the long time employees) would put on a better act of wanting to be there. There's sum good deli people and a couple of older gentlemen always seen busy in the back end of the store. They are the pleasent exception

First visit was a quick stop inside . Next visit will be one with more time allowed to explore the aisles to see what Piggly Wiggly has to offer as it is the first and only Piggly Wiggly in Central New York .

For two weeks now I have shown up to see their donut bakery case nearly empty at 830-930 in the morning on weekends. If you ask if any more are being made they tell you they’re done for the day.

Where to start. The prices are astronomical, but just like anything else you pay the extra for the convenience of location when needed. Swung in to grab a premade salad today. There were 3 available. Picked one and started to walk away but noticed a lot of spoiled lettuce. So I gave a quick inspection and grabbed another. Payed the 7 for the salad and the .89 for the dressing. Drove back to the office. Popped it open to see there was a pile of mystery meat underneath the ham. After giving it a taste I find it to be bacon. But some left over fatty cut pieces of bacon that just doesn't have much aesthetic to it. As I start to eat this salad notice that the lettuce is mostly frozen. The lettuce that is not frozen is severely wilted and and has the texture of soggy news papers. The frozen lettuce just tastes like dirty expired lettuce(You all know what that flavor is). So my conclusion is, when their lettuce browns they throw it in the freezer and then make salads with it to minimize loss. I would assume its the same with the other ingredients. Again, I stopped knowing that I was paying for convenience, but if your selling things at twice the rate of Walmart or Aldi's, make sure your giving quality. I don't enjoy paying double for your attempt to minimize waste.

Previously, Tops and even Piggly Wiggly (at first) had the BEST donuts in the area. Plain fried donuts, peanut donuts, bavarian cream filled donuts -- they were all amazing. Recently, we actually ended up throwing out the donuts as they were so bad. My husband likes the plain fried donut -- now --The plain donut is like a dried cake with a foreign taste -- like the commercial donut that comes out of a Hostess Box. Is this a permanent change?

I love this store.. its always so clean. Produce is in great condition not like other stores.. they have the best 5 for 24.99 meat deals ever!!! If your looking for great deals on meat this is your store.. they have items that I can't find anywhere else, like I only drink flavored water. They carry the Adirondack flavored in so many different varieties ( so piggy wiggly please don't get rid of them!! )they have really good sales the meat section always looks neat and I actually don't mind buying my meat there it looks good not like other stores where it looks like someone beat it up first. Dairy section I can always find what what I'm looking for..in other words I can rake my grocery list to piggly wiggly and complete it..not like other stores we won't mention..ha ha..

Prices went way up after it changed from Tops. It is ok if you need something in a pinch.... but unfortunately not my 1st choice anymore. Also I must add, after it changed to Piggly.... They started closing an hour earlier, (now 9pm)& recently started locking their IN Door 30 minutes before they close.... So when I first walked up to it, I almost ran into it and I thought they were closed..... At 8:30. I then saw someone walking out & realized that I had to go IN the OUT Door...?

First time in, very clean and organized. But we won't be back. I've never been so shocked at the use of the intercom system. Over the period of two minutes, they called for a woman to go to the back three times. Each time more loud and agressive. The tone was so off-putting and rude. It was so loud, it seemed like she was yelling into the intercom. Why do customers need to listen to that? I started to feel bad for the employees.

Prices are insanely high...you can literally drive down the street to Aldi and pay half the price.
