Their produce is superior to all those around them. Their butchers will assist you, and kindly accept your requests. All employees, in my own experience, are friendly and helpful. LOVE THESE PEOPLE!!

Forgive me I can't remember names..BUT..I have to tell you...if I can give 20 STARS to this bakery I would. It was 2 days before my sons graduation party and I was in desperate need of a sheet cake for both of them...HS and College. I ordered the w nights before on line and I called the day after. I got this young lady (can't remember her name) who was so patient, and caring and comfort me as I was telling her how I wanted to cake decorates. She took her time and and she reassured me how beautiful it would come out and not to worry that it would be exactly how I want it. And it was EXACTLY HOW I WANTED IT FOR THE DESIGN AND IT TASTED DELICIOUS BECAUSE THEY MADE IT FRESH FOR ME THE MORNING OF! I can't thank you guys enough!

I used to enjoy shopping at Hannaford, however, this store has gone way downhill. They don't carry alot of brands or items they used to. The prices have gone way up & the quality has gone way down. The produce is not even close to good quality. Hannaford, used to have great quality Fruits & vegetables..No more. Most items that are shown on their website as being "in stock" are NOT "IN STOCK".
** Hannaford - You need to seriously improve greatly & get back on track.... your prices have gone way up & quality is down.... making it better for the competition.

This review is mainly for a pick up/delivery orders because although I don't shop here exclusively anymore, in-store experience (including produce) still seems fine when I do. My mom lost her mobility and can't walk the store, but she loves Hannaford and has shopped there since it opened, so we transitioned her to ordering. Most of the order is great, but half her produce is rotten lately. I mean inedible, goes right to the bin. I will say the packaged things are generally fine, like the salad mixes and such. She tried to get a replacement on an item and it was so difficult (customer service and the order department are NOT on the same page), she gave up because "it's only a few dollars." But she's on a fixed income! You're not intentionally putting dead stock in the online orders for profit, are you? Many elderly and disabled customers, and caregivers, use this service. If so that's vile. Everything else is fine, sometimes she gets substitutions and has never had an issue with any of them.

My local Hannafords. Used to go as a kid when it was Waldbaums. In 2005 this was a 5. Now it is a 4. A 3 if you are a grocery snob.

This store has been slowly been sliding in quality especially in regard to produce. I buy bananas that do not turn yellow (so picked too soon from the tree), cantaloupes with awful taste, honeydews with bad taste, and most recently a rotten watermelon that looked fine from the outside. I might continue to shop there, but no longer for produce.
Update: I followed through with abandoning produce shopping there and came home with gorgeous fruit from Adams.
