We adopted our wire haired dachshund from C.A.R.E. in August 2022. The staff were wonderful and Johan (pictures below) is the perfect dog for our family. I would highly recommend adopting from them.

CARE is amazing, I cannot say enough good things about this place. We have adopted 3 dogs and a cat from them and helped many others adopt from them as well. Karen and all her staff are the greatest, most caring people and we will be back again in the future ❤️

About Compassionate Animal Rescue Efforts of Dutchess County
CARE of DC Thriftstore is a retail business that helps to raise funds to support our rescue. 100% of the proceeds goes towards caring for the animals in our shelters. We currently have two separate locations. One for dog adoptions and one for cat adoptions. We always have small animals available for adoption at our thrift store.
We have an amazing selection of new and gently used items for sale. We have a clothes room, kitchen wares, electronics, cds, books, bric a brac, stationary, cards, tools, beauty supplies, plants and furniture just to name a few. We also have a whole room of pet supplies. Dog coats, leashes, collars, harnesses and small animal accessories, etc. You name it and we probably have it.
