I went in for an adaptor and was told it does not exist and was sold a wire at three times the cost.
On another visit I noticed the adapter I asked about on the shelf. The next time I went I brought the wire I purchased. I explained my desire to return the wire and was told there was a restocking fee since I had neither the receipt or the packaging. I refused the return, as I would get two dollars back, but dropped the piece of garbage wire (my worst cable is superior) at the entrance.
I will not shop there again.
I know you like to respond. Quell the urge.
As I paid for the adaptor Jason informed me the updated price was a dollar more, I picked up the package and showed him the price.
... again, quell the urge.

Alto music has always been good to me. I shop guitars and basses, electric and acoustic. They have inventory to buy new, they make trades when they can, they sell used, and they have the instruments you need to make almost any sound that can be heard.
There are some stand out people that work there, too. They do repairs, setup and customization work.
If you want an instrument in your hands when you decide to buy, this is the place.
- they are part of making music in the area, and help in all aspects related to it.

Their hours and return policy are not very accommodating. I purchased an item as a gift 6 weeks ago and do to them only being open 6 hours a day while most people are at work, I was unable to get to the store within the 30 day return policy. I had my receipt and the item was unopened. When I tried to return the item the staff acted very condescending and rude. I explained that I was unable to get to the store do to illness and the limited hours. An exception was made however it came with great resistance and disrespect. I even thanked the staff after the return was processed and they refused to acknowledge me. Myself and my family has spent a lot of money at the store in the last 10+ years. We will not be returning.

Probly the best music store in the whole Hudson Valley for repairs, advice and stage kit, amps, equipment and supplies not to mention instruments like with strings, keys and skins !

I've always had great experience. Picked up a Gibson SG today, which is the 4th guitar I've bought from here over the years. Tom was very helpful getting 2 of them sent over from Middletown for me to see which I liked better. Being in the minority as a lefty, it was great that they had them at all.
