My dog was a little off on Tuesday morning, so I called the Vet and I was told my regular doctor was on vacation. I asked the receptionist to have another doctor to please call me about my dog. They never got back to me, and my dog died later that night. How can they be so irresponsible??

i went with my mother to take her dog in for a vaccine. This particular vet decided that my mother's small dog could have all 3 or 4 vaccines shots at once . Well we almost lost her. No surprise she had a terrible allergic reaction. She was terribly sick for two weeks . They took little to no accountability. Not to me the financial burden they caused again with no accountability.

I am very happy with the care my two dogs (a shiba inu yorkie mix and a german shepherd pit mix) have received through wantagh animal hospital! Dr. Greenberg is such a delight and truly compassionate with both of my girls, while making sure their health is prioritized in an efficient and supportive manner.

Came in with my gerbil and was welcomed with kind staff. I met with Dr. Greenberg, the exotic animal specialist, and he was very informative and respectful with my pet's situation. Although I was given poor news, he offered me referrals to talk to other vets in the area with a keen specialty for rodents. He said "regardless that they are small animals we want them to live, not simply exist"- he is truly a kind man with the intention of helping animals and being their for their owners/family. Would recommend to others and plan to come her again for my other pets if needed.

Very disappointed. I have bought my dogs to them for 25 years. I have a personal reason I couldn't bring my dog to them and asked for a refill and they wouldn't. Shame on them

Dr. Diana Larmore is the most unprofessional veterinarian I've ever encountered. Her bedside manner was appalling, her tone with me was condescending. When I described my dog's recent health issues, after about 60 seconds her conclusion that my dog needed to be put down, without considering any other meds, treatments, etc. She gave me information about certain medications that was blatantly untrue -- disproved by a simple Google search, but I also have spoken to numerous other vets who have contradicted what she said. I told her that my dog is sensitive by his ears due to an infection; she grabbed the ear without caution, so when he growled she jumped back and accused me of putting her in danger by bringing him in. She proceeded to shoo us out the door and told me I should take him somewhere else. I can't speak to the other vets at this facility, but if you're going to take your pets here, absolutely do not book an appointment with Dr. Larmore.

I have been doing animal rescue for almost 40 years . Dr Selmonsky who co owns East Bay Vet in Merrick also owns Wantagh animal hospital . I had been using East Bay and Wantagh for my rescue group . My personal animals had always been cared for by Dr Selmonsky. When my feral cat who lived indoors with my other cats needed her nails clipped . I trapped her and brought her to Wantagh as instructed by Dr Selmonsky . He advised me to go to Wantagh that Sunday as he would be there . He noted while sedated she needed dental work which I agreed to have him do . As it turned out he DID NOT do the dental work but gave my personal cat to Dr LaMore who dislikes ferals and has no compassion!!! I had no idea that she did the surgery removing A dozen teeth from a healthy 2 year old cat . I picked her up Tuesday night to take her home and after asking about pain meds / antibiotics I was told it was all OK . My car Sophie hid and refused food /water . I contacted Dr Selmonsky to advised him of her condition still unaware he did not do the surgery . He told me to bring her back to Wantagh the next morning . All this time I thinking he had done her surgery and was caring for her . I received a call the following day that Sophie had DIED . It was only then I got all of her records to find out she had not been given antibiotics nor pain meds after the surgery .Her records indicate she had no eaten nor had water nor been hydrated since the Sunday of the surgery the week before . My poor cat suffered for 7 days with no pain meds no antibiotics no food or water before she finally died . Her autopsy showed she died of a massive oral infection that traveled to her throat lungs . Dr LaMore did not bother to give her a simple antibiotic after major surgery that was 3 hrs . She is a cruel , irresponsible vet who lacked compassion for her patient . An animal would never be released with no meds , no food or water for 3 days to the owner without having been notified. Not to mention the cat should never have been released to me under those circumstances!!!! Pure neglect on Dr LaMore's part was responsible for the death of Sophie who was a healthy cat . I knew none of this until after her death . Dr Selmonsky is as responsible for her death as the other veterinarian. He was never authorized to give my personal animals to anyone but him or Dr Maltese . Both of them from East Bay in Merrick . He deceived me until I had all the paperwork to show he didn't do the surgery nor did he ever checked up on her . Anyone reading her records would agree this was unacceptable care which lead to her death . After over 30 years with Dr Selmonsky I severed all ties . He is not the same man who used to meet me at 2 am at his clinic to save a rescues life . He is a greedy owner who betrayed my trust as well as the well being of the animals he took an oath to help . Never use Wantagh Animal hospital or East Bay Animal in Merrick

My dog Xena had a severe case of pancreatitis and wouldn't eat for 2 days (mind you, she never rejects food). I brought her in for an ultrasound and turns out her pancreas was very inflamed. They hospitalized her for a few days with treatments of antibiotics and pain meds. After the 2nd day there she the staff told me she was regaining her appetite back. Day 3 she finished a whole meal and was able to be discharged. They had her continue a course of antibiotic and she was all back to normal. Amazing Staff and Doctors!

At first we were very happy here and found the doctor to be very caring. We left today because we had an annual appointment and were completely ignored in the parking lot for an hour while my dog was in great distress . I took her home and tried to call but was out on hold for an additional 30 minutes. Unacceptable level of care ! we switched to a new vet who allows pet parents to accompany their pet into the office - this decreases stress on pets and owners - the practice of sitting in the car is excessive and unnecessary at this point ! 90 minutes of my life that I won't get back - my time is worth something and my dog was stressed out - awful!!!

this hospital is only concerned in money and how much and how fast they get it i always payed my bill after there office submitted my dogs claim to my pet insurance company now they say i must pay it at once. Ive been going to this vet for over thirty years and never had a problem like this even though they are 30to40 percent higher than other vets i stayed with them but now i learned that the bussiness was sold to new owners and it seems like all they care about is the money and not the customer i am going to request a copy of all my dogs and get a new vet,im 77years old and dont really want to change but there forceing me to with higher prices and inconvience

Dr Greenberg and staff were absolutely incredible. Unfortunately we had to put our beloved cat to sleep and the process was made as easy as possible with extreme care and compassion by Dr Greenberg and his staff. This is never an easy time but it is extremely comforting knowing there is a staff who cares for the well-being of your animal as much as you do. Thank you will never be enough.

Brought my dog here cause he had difficulty breathing. Was told that's just the way they are. Brought him to another vet the next day and his lungs were filled with fluid. He was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away 4 months later. Called the wantagh animal hospital to let them know they were wrong and was still charged full price for the visit/xrays.

The female vet shows no compassion for the animals. I took my cat here because I was concerned that he had urinary tract infection. The vet took him in and then called me on the phone while I was in the car. A few tests and I got nowhere and was charged over $300 for one visit. Why is it that veterinarians are so money hungry? The vet was no help at all and I found out the issue myself. He didn't like the cat litter in his litter pan.
