Stopped in to pick up a used barrel and stumbled across a great whiskey. They offer free tasting! Tried the bourbon and the American whiskey. Ended up purchasing a bottle of the whiskey, a little lighter in flavor than the bourbon but both were very good! Looks like my trips to eat on Varick Street will have to include another stop from now on....

This is an an update to my previous review. I was contacted by this company after they viewed my review and they informed me that there was a problem with their gin and it was recalled. They indicated they would provide a replacement bottle but could not ship it to me. I informed them that stopping in was not an option and requested a refund. I never received any response back. Very poor customer service.

We called ahead and Josh was willing to give us tastings even though it seemed that they were not open. We enjoyed all of the spirits and purchased a few bottles to go.

What a delight to receive a tour by Nick with kibitzing by Jordan of the Adirondack Distillery. Having enjoyed tours of the Buffalo Trace Distillery and multiple tours of the Jack Daniels Distillery it was an incredible pleasure to see the whole process in roughly in a room and a half yet every step the same. It was an intimate experience to see the process step by step. It was really special to see a Distillery barely 5 years old meeting the challenges of taste, consistency of flavors and also expanding their offerings. We were impressed with what lengths Nick and Jordan and the team that creates their vodka, gin, and bourbon selections go to to create their delicious products. We left with a. Bottle of their gin and their 601 special series finished in maple bourbon barrels.

I’m sure the owners of this distillery would rather you buy their product than take a tour but good news. You can do both! We visited with a friend who lives nearby and had won a tour of the distillery! Although we arrived on a day they weren’t giving tours, they were very generous to give us a tour on a day they were making their product! K and I have previously toured the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Kentucky and recently spent a couple of days in Lynchburg touring the Jack Daniels Distillery, I have to say I haven’t stopped commenting on how great our tour was yesterday! As I sit here sipping an Adirondack Distillery Gin and Tonic (delicious) I want to brag about how great and informative our tour was! Having seen large scale distilleries, it was pure joy to see how a small craft distillery barely five years old was meeting the challenges of distilling spirits to meet the demand as people discovered their delicious products but also were working hard to create the next great spirit. Nick, our “tour” guide but actually a key member of the creative team, and Jordan, a senior member of the team, who kibitzed during our tour, were both incredibly informative. To be able to observe the entire process from mash to fermentation to distilling to barreling to bottling in roughly a room and a half was really fun and allowed us to compare our knowledge gained on previous tours of multiple buildings creating thousands of bottles to a small craft distillery facing the same challenges of taste, quality and consistency. Fascinating! I’m sure their regular tour is as informative and ours plus there’s a tasting at the end. We left with a delicious bottle of gin and a bottle of their 601 Special series bourbon aged in maple infused barrels. A truly special tasting bourbon. There’s something poetic? about creating spirits in a former church building that also had a life as a bank! this is one of those don’t miss places. You’ll leave much smarter than when you entered and have an opportunity to taste some of your new knowledge! Don’t miss taking this distillery up on their tour!

One of the best Gins I have tasted. Whiskeys are also good. Everthing is hand made and bottled. Make sure you visit this distillery for a tour and a tasting.

Jordan, the owner, was very gracious to show us around even though they were closed for the week. Vodka and American 601 Whiskey are top notch.

The Adirondack Distillery is located in an old flatiron building that has been renovated to accommodate the small batch stills located on the main floor. The tours are great for anyone who has never seen a distillery in production. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and the tastings of some very exceptional products provided an insight into the philosophy of the company. They create only small batch products and when they expand, which they most certainly will have to, they will duplicate the existing size and production techniques rather than growing by size and volume which would compromise their quality and mission. Check the tour times to ensure they are running when you arrive and enjoy.
