Stopped in with my visiting daughter on our way to the Farmers Market (hint, we were in jeans and respectable quality tshirts, she is a Latina, I have gray hair--guess where this is going). She was looking for white linen pants for work as a NYC events manager, but browsing as well. Staff showed a bit of interest and interaction initially. But THEN typical Euro-American family comes in and they not only get assistance, but are offered seats and flutes of sparkling water while trying on a few things. My daughter is also trying on clothes, but we are offered neither seats not water, although we started before and ended after them. I was "allowed" to stand behind them and try to see my daughter's outfits from 6-8 feet away, over their heads. Staff gave some effort but didn't listen well--brought out ivory silk pants (not white, not linen, not appropriate for work) and didn't know selling points for their products very well. Told my daughter things fit when in truth they didn't (as she herself realized). We did buy a nice linen shirt, so evidence we weren't there to play dress up. But I was of no mind to spend any more money because of the disparity in service. No ladies, I was not some old woman who couldn't afford to treat my daughter to a new outfit--we later dropped nearly $700 at Truly Rhe where sales people were attentive, enthusiastic and listened to her preferences. That could have been your sale.

I’m so happy I found this clothing store! Owner has such a good eye for fashion and everything is high quality and affordable. It’s so nice to find a place like this ! If you’re clueless like me about fashion just ask the owner Marcus and he will have you looking like the trendiest person on the planet.

Found this gem of a fashion boutique in Troy, NY and I'm so glad and excited that I did! Beautiful, stylish and quality selection of clothing. Prices are reasonable. The shop is also beautifully designed. We met the owner Marcus, he's friendly and provides excellent customer service. He tailors your clothing item if necessary, free of charge, which makes your shopping experience flawless and of the utmost satisfaction. He will help you and make you look stylish, he's got excellent taste. I will check out Marcus Blaque in the future for shopping for quality and stylish clothes. I also appreciate the lady that was very helpful ( I apologize I didn't get her name).

Stumbled into Marcus Blaque following a visit to the Troy river front farmer's market, and my friends and I were astonished by the scope and sophistication of Blaque's offering. When you discover that he started out in tailoring followed by 20 years at Barney's NY, the whole scene makes sense. I tend toward classic styling and my friends were a little trendier - we were all happy. Broad price range on clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry and accessories. Marcus looks for style, great quality and excellent value. I bought a jacket with more tailoring than $200 bucks should have delivered, and I got some great fitting jeans for $70 that have been my go-to all Winter. Shirting tends to be on the higher side with top notch brands like Equipment (wonderful silk fabrics) and Maison Scotch (Scotch and Soda). One friend got a slick wool and mohair blend coat in a fabulous blue and another picked up a groovy floral dress. Marcus Blaque and his men's store Britches of Troy on River Street are an asset to the Troy community, and you should definitely check it out. Knowledgeable staff if Marcus isn't around.
