Brought my truck there for an inspection last week but failed due to tires, which I agree, I did need some. So I got new tires put on, brought it back today, and failed again for “brake system”. Paid for TWO failed inspections in 1 week from this place. Would have appreciated a full inspection the first time so I didn’t have to waste my time and money.

I would stay away from Tonawanda-Pep Boys. I got a great Black Friday deal on 4 tires ($410 total) in November so things started out well. Install went well and was done on time. However, within 10 days I was losing a lot of air from the one which can be normal if not sealed well. I took my car there in December and things started out OK as they took a look and determined it had to be re-sealed and also needed a new valve stem and sensor. I wasn't thrilled but ok with the explanation and $130 quote. However, when I went to pick-up the car I was told it was $313!!! I said what happened to the $130 quote, nobody notified me on the increase. He said well we had to do some additional work on the tire. I pressed further and he said well I can take it down to $293. I chuckled and reluctantly paid the $293 and will never go back to a dishonest business like this again!

Joe, Nolan and Mike are fantastic. They do their very best at managing the schedule to best accommodate you. They know what customer service means, they remember their customers, are knowledgeable and experienced. Sydney was the nicest too, very sincere. They will take good care of you.

They invoiced me for my free tire rotation but did not do it. I also got the synthetic oil change, but, now I'm wondering if its actually synthetic oil. They didn't rotate my tires my last visit either but I had time and had them do it. I also gave them the benefit of the doubt since that was my first visit there and it was close and convenient. I mark my tires so it was pretty obvious. Not getting the service they claim to be providing twice in two visits tells me this is how they operate. Beware. And for the record, the tires are 4 months old and have the exact same tread depth. They even faked the labor time on the invoice. See photos for the invoice details and my tire markings.

extremely unprofessional, among other things. i called late last week for an inspection appointment. It was later in the day, but it seemed like i wasnt worth helping, so he hung up on me. I called back the next day, and they actually took the appointment, surprisingly. appointment was for 430 today (11/29), so they decide to call me at 355pm and tell me that they cant do anything for me, and that they cant get me in until next week. i understand that things happen, but i will never call here again.

A circus at best, customer service is also egregious. Six plus days for bolts and gaskets. Wasn't easy to give y'all more than 85 characters. Yikes!

I made a 2pm appointment online in the morning. EVERY afternoon appt was available so I chose 2pm. I get a phone call at 130 pm that my appt is cancelled they got too busy !! EVERY appt slot was available for the entire afternoon so why did I get cancelled !!?? I am guessing that a bigger repair issue or tire sale walked in the door so let's cancel the guy with only an oil change !!! Goodbye Pep Boys !!!

The location on Niagara Falls blvd Amherst has a great staff. The customer service rep and mechanic were very kind and honest. I was very impressed with the customer service rep Lucas. He was very knowledgable, honest, and had a great attitude. I had a long wait but with this kind of service I will be a long time customer at this location.

Booked an online appointment for 8am on Friday, 11/3. Booked it several days ago, received a confirmation. Joe (supposed manager)calls at 5:30pm telling me too many cars were booked so I can't have my car serviced. When I asked him the next available time to have it serviced, he told me to drop if off at 1pm Saturday, which didn't work with my schedule. As I was telling him it wouldn't work and I'd have to check he muttered "well call me back when you know" and hung up on me as I was about to ask him for a time later that day. I took an unpaid day off to have my car serviced. Called back at 6pm to complain to Joe regarding the inconvenience to my schedule. Even still, Joe refused to accommodate me, merely stating "well, what do you want me to do about it?" When I told him I had a confirmation for the online booking he said he couldn't do anything about that and had no control over what online booking says it has open for appointments. When I asked him for his supervisors name, he told me he was the supervisor. When asked for someone above him to talk to, he told me he couldn't tell me, wouldn't tell me nor give me any contact information, and said there was nothing he could do. I even asked for a phone number to call for this issue and he denied me that, saying "they wouldn't want me to do that and even if I could I can't". I will be lodging a complaint with the BBB as well as Pep boys corporate headquarters regarding their poor business acumen, supposed faulty online booking arrangements, and poor customer service skills from Joe.
