Good people, doing good business! You get a old school Pawn Shop vibe when you walk in but the allure isn't the trinkets although the KHS brand and several kids and woman's bikes are worth a double take. No the real ambience is taken straight from the lineage that's working the counter. No hassle no frills you get what you pay for a great mechanic and unusual banter. They know bikes and they know their community. Good places like this need your business. I'll be back.

Went in at closing time, and they threw some air in the tire and made a minor adjustment to front tire for no charge. Thanks!

I’ve rented bikes twice now from these guys and both times it was a great experience. Frankly, I have a hard time imagining how others had such a poor experience. I found the owner to be very friendly and responsive on both occasions. I’ll definitely rent from them again.

I recently bought an Eastwood bicycle from here. The owners were very helpful and sweet, allowed me to test it out, fitted my helmet for me just right. I went back a few days later because the seat it came with was painful and once again they were very helpful and figured out exactly what I needed very quickly. After 1 month of riding you can bring it back and they’ll make all necessary adjustments again!! This place has been around longer than I’ve been alive, so they really know what they’re doing and you really can’t beat it!! I very highly recommend Dick’s!!

I went into the shop today with my 13-month-old daughter. I have never experienced this level of misogyny and chauvinistic behavior in my entire life. I work in a male dominated industry, and this was by far the most disrespectful behavior I have ever experienced. The line of question the very elderly employee engaged in was completely rude and quite frankly none of his business. I would have not received this treatment if I was a man, I am certain of that. I would never step foot in this shop again and recommend anyone who is a female and has any kind of respect for females to spend their money elsewhere until this place goes out of business as it should.

Called about road tires. Owner was ‘too busy’ to answer questions I had and hung up on me. Owner and business are aptly named.

Everyone has a different experience, but my one time experience was perfectly fine. Went in with a bike with a flat bike tire from a nozzle. Was replaced promptly and with a new one and I paid for that but they also tightened some areas of the bike as well, that I hadn't gotten around to tightening myself, as he said he didn't want someone getting hurt. They were friendly with the 4 year old I came in with and he tried out a bike while waiting.

Great bikes and great service from a wonderful gentleman and his son. Lovely spot to cycle towards either Buffalo Centre or Niagara along a cycle path.

Rude, chauvinistic owner who actually said to me, "Why don't you just stick to making meatloaf?" I had a flat tire. I called ahead of time to see what info they'd need to help me figure out what tire tube I needed. I got there and got hassled for more info and not knowing exactly what I needed. I ended up going back a second time to ask for help making sure the tire size was right since it was the first time I've ever changed one. That's when the owner became even more condescending and just made it an awful experience. In the future I'll drive another 20 min to be treated with respect and professionalism. To the previous reviewer that said that being nice and not a rude customer will solve the treatment, that isn't true. I was nice the entire time I was in this store. Even after the meatloaf comment, I tried to laugh it off just to get out of the store. No one needs to be treated like they are stupid. Dick was helpful but at the cost of being condescending. It doesn't need to be like that.

Called to look for used parts that would cost prolly around 150 all together the guy says he does what are ya looking for and proceeds to tell me why don't you just buy a new bike I can sell you one just over 400 (cause I didn't have that much money) plus I enjoy rebuilding thing then proceeded to tell me he doesn't have any for sale in a very rude way overall this guy was not pleasant don't know how he's open!

My wife and I rented bikes from Dick and Richard (his son) to bike tour into Ontario, then along the Erie Canal to Rochester. The Evo bikes are inexpensive, but appropriate for flat, casual touring 20 to 50 miles per day, including riding hard-pack gravel along the canal. We had a great time and great experience too with Dick's Bikes. So Dick and Richard have very positive reviews and very negative reviews. Here's why, I think. Dick has been there for over 50 years. At Dick's age, he still loves to help people and bikes, but doesn't need to have much tolerance for demanding or rude customers. In my conversations with him first on the phone (from California) then in person when we picked up the bikes, he was incredibly helpful. I was pleased and surprised by how much time he spent with me on the phone asking about our bike touring plans and making very helpful suggestions too. Here's one key to success when in the shop: Be patient. Dick could easily have made a perceived rude comment to me with all our modifications as we checked out the bikes to tour. And he would have been right. I was very particular setting up the bikes. To their credit, they just let me adjust-test-adjust ect. I would love to visit Dick's bikes again sometime soon just to talk to them, to appreciate how long they have been serving their community and tourist like us passing through. Here is a good start to a visit to Dick's Bike's, and perhaps any family business you visit: "Hi, I am so glad this shop is here, and hope you can help me. I need...." Based on my experience, this approach will avoid those negative encounters. If you don't want to be kind to them, as you expect to be treated, just go to a giant corporate store where the employees wont even notice you are there.
