My friend and I checked out this bookstore today and the guy who works there is awesome! He is such a cutie patootie and told us about some great spots to check out in town as well as some good intro to horror books. I would definitely check this place out if you’re in the area but I’d also drive an hour again just to hang out with the dude who sells books!

Hidden Gem - An excellent locally owned bookshop. This is a great place for a wide range of spooky to horror themed books, with books for all ages from picture books to adults. They have plenty of Sleepy Hollow related works, bookmarks, and postcards. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. This store must be on the list for every Sleepy Hollow tourist!
The only negative is the store front is easy to miss. So be sure to look for the clapboard sign!

I had some extra time on my hands this summer and decided to walk around. I stumbled upon this wonderful bookstore and I am so glad that I did. Excellent selection of books and the staff member present that day helped me pick out some books, including a great one by an author who is not too well known (Antonia Angress) it also happened to be the eve of James Baldwin’s 100th birthday, the store had bookmarks to celebrate. Excellent books, even better energy from the people who work there, can’t wait to go back!

I love this little bookshop! I’m a huge fan of the horror genre. It was clear that whoever buys for Transom is on point!!! Super friendly. Cool new releases of classics as well. I will definitely return next time I’m in town.

Transom is dope: it’s got a deep selection, hits all the genres, and it’s curated by staff and ownership who actually read the stuff they stock. This means you are well-taken-care-of whether you need direction or already know what you’re seeking. They have more than once special ordered something I have requested. Friendly and helpful.
