I took my daughter there shopping for a mattress and was very pleased with both the quality and the wonderful sales lady. We needed it the next day and she facilitated prompt delivery.

Amazing customer service. Quick turnaround and delivery. Beautiful mattresses made on site. You can actually see people working on mattresses and foundations in the same room with you when you try out the mattresses. Super cool. I also love the mattress. We bought it for the guest room and I've been sleeping in the guest room since we got it.

Have used Southard mattresses for decades and swear by them! My boys grew up on them and they can't find anything they like even close to their quality - the key being THAT LEVEL OF QUALITY THAT LASTS! We have houseguests who even ask what kind of mattress we have!

Just spent time picking a new mattress for our daughter and one for me and my husband. From the moment we walked in, John was fantastic. Helpful, responsive, and at no time was he pushy. He understood our need to try every bed. To ask questions and then ask them again.. I felt comfortable taking my time to make a decision. John was extremely patient with us! I loved his approach of being so available without making me feel like all he wanted was a sale. I highly recommend getting a mattress here. And because they make them here in Syracuse, the prices can't be beat. Ask for John. He will treat you right.

I've bought three latex mattresses from Southard—so far. I plan to buy more in the future. These folks are so kind and patient and trustworthy, and they deliver my beautiful items all the way from Syracuse to where I want them in Trumansburg and Ithaca. I love these guys.

Love love love Sleepmaster, so much so that I've made two (relatively expensive) purchases there. My primary motivation for searching for and purchasing WJ Southard mattresses was ecological. They are a local retailer and manufacturer. They source and use quality materials that are natural/organic. I've never experienced any off-gassing, something I'm extremely sensitive to. The longevity of the mattress far exceeds a traditional innerspring. Their mattresses definitely come at a higher price point than if you were to go to Metro Mattress, Dream City, etc., but I have no doubt I will be sleeping on our Sleepmaster mattress for 20 or more years. I can say already that after I first purchased a Linklaen in 2014, I bought a run of the mill pillowtop from Dream City for our guest bedroom. The guest bed has already s*** out on us, after hosting a handful of guests and occasionally my sleepy dog. Carol is a wonderful salesperson (and she may be the only one there?), knows her product, is personable and straightforward. She always seems willing to cut a deal for you, especially if you are a return customer. I don't know if this is part of her sales gimmick, but if it is, it is effective as her delivery is quite sincere. I ended up purchasing a Linklaen, which is Sleepmaster's all latex model. It is definitely a very firm mattress, and keep in mind that if you lay on their floor model in the store, it is MUCH softer than what you will actually receive, after being broken in by many backs and butts of people wanting to test it out. When I moved into a bigger house and had a bedroom that could accommodate a king, I went back to Sleepmaster and ended up getting an Archetype pillowtop, which is a bit softer model. It is a traditional innerspring with a latex topper. There is no breaking in period for this model. It feels like it's been your ride or die mattress. It is firm enough for me, soft enough for my husband, and roomy enough for the two of us, a toddler and a dog. The Archetype pillowtop is one of Sleepmaster's most expensive models - including delivery an hour away, it set me back $3402 (I did not purchase the box spring, that was just for the mattress). However! If the mattress lasts 20 years at least, and I'm sleeping on it every night, it breaks out to about .46 cents per night's sleep, and that sounds pretty good to me. FYI, if you are searching for WJ Southard, Sleepmaster is the stockist, and that is where Google Maps will send you if you're searching for Southard.

Time and time again this company continues to pleasantly surprise me. Since my first purchase two years ago I have been met with grace, and kindness by every person I've talked to at this company. Possibly one of the best beds I've ever sleeped on, I can't speak highly enough about them. I continue to recommend to everyone I talk to.

THIS IS THE FIVE STAR PART OF THE REVIEW: This is a mixed review because while the experience of purchasing the bed set was extremely wonderful, the delivery sucked. Last week, I took my daughter to the Erie Blvd. East store in Syracuse to buy her a new bed. We worked with Carol, a sales manager. Carol was the sweetest, nicest, most professional person I have dealt with in a retail sales setting in years. She asked what we were looking for and what our price range was, and showed us several available sets that fit our requirements. We decided on an extremely comfortable set that was on sale and sat down to do the paperwork. Everything went well, and we left the store very satisfied with the purchase we made. Delivery was set up for the following week. THIS IS THE ONE STAR PART OF THE REVIEW: Delivery day came, and the truck arrived on time (we had a window of 1-4, and they arrived before 2:00). The delivery men were from a different store (Cicero), which is why this review is in two parts, as you will see. The problem started when one of the men said something about not removing the old set, and I went to find my receipt because removal was something that I had discussed with Carol. (As I am in a wheelchair, having them remove the old bed set was just much easier for me). Apparently, because I had the nerve to question the delivery guy's comment about them removing the old set, he quickly got an attitude and became belligerent. He got out his copy of the receipt to show me that there was nothing mentioned about the removal, and after the bed was set up he kept muttering comments including wondering whether I was going to make trouble for him with the store. I called the store where I purchased the bed to talk to Carol. She was not working, but I talked to an extremely nice person who said that there had been a misunderstanding and that they were coming back to take away the old bed-set. As I was hanging up with him, the delivery men showed back up again, and I proceeded to tell them what I thought about their lousy attitude. The taller man, of course, denied saying anything derogatory but my daughter had heard everything. Shortly after they left, one of them called and told my daughter that he had in fact called and discussed the situation with Carol, who informed him that removal was included, but she had simply forgotten to write it on the receipt. She had been the only one working the evening we made our purchase and had other customers to take care of besides us, and this slipped through the cracks. I would give Carol and the Erie Blvd. East store five stars, because I could not have reasonably asked for things to go better. We got a great bed set, at a great price, and were treated very well by Carol. I give the delivery people one star, only because they called back after everything was done to let us know that we were correct about removing the old bed. They did set up the bed like they were supposed to, it's just that everything else about them made this a horrible customer experience.

There are not enough "Stars " to rate the difference from "before and after " on this new Organic mattress ! Carol and company are just amazing to work with and delivered as promised - We got our this week and our twins already want to know if we have ordered their yet !!! Great Job Carol ...Thanks from all the Boltwood's here is Florida and specially being from Syracuse which is a special place in my heart growing up there !!!
