Good old-fashioned customer service that's hard to find at the big box stores. Especially true if you have an older home - if it can be repaired, they will have what you need. If they don't have it, it's probably time to upgrade!

Great service. I called shortly before closing when I was helping my son set up his apt. John was helpful on the phone and said he would wait for me even though he would be closed by the time I got there. He helped me gather a variety of items, cut pieces of wood and plexiglas, and made key copies. Got everything I needed plus it was nice dealing with a small business owner. I highly recommend this store.

Have shopped at City true value hardware previously. Always a good experience. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. Will always shop there as opposed to the big box stores.

I like shopping smaller stores to help keep them in business, but I can skip this store in the future. The woman who asked if I needed assistance was nice, but the checkout staffers were rather gloomy; the dog was very cool. I simply needed a paper towel holder; after 6 years, the one installed by a previous owner broke, I had no idea which brand it was, so I picked up 3 brands, and found on in City True Value that fits the nail holes perfectly.Why "gloomy"? I am a retired Customer Service trainer; Sprint, Verizon, and dozens of Non-Profits. I trained in English, and several non-English-speaking countries.

I've been going to this hardware store since I was a kid. They have a huge selection for such a small space, and the staff is super helpful and kind. I have always gotten solid advice when asking questions and trust them completely. It's a great asset to downtown Syracuse and a much better store than the big box options.

Been going for over 15 years. Good place for what u need. Fair prices, sometimes under priced!! Family ran, nice dog.. I think father and daughter, cousins .. I realy don't kno. But the main guy allways goes out of his way to help.. good glass /window service too
