7243 State Fair Blvd STE 5, SyracuseMy daughter has been using the bedspreads with her 4 Guinea pigs for over 2 years. Excellent quality. With regular maintenance, the bed spread keeps the smell at bay much better than any of the bedding options we have tried in the past.

Kara's Paw-Fect Grooming Salon
1900 Brewerton Rd, SyracuseI have been bringing my dogs to Kara and Andre for years and have to share with everyone how great these groomers are with my elderly pops(they use to be pups). They have been getting beautiful with the special grooming skills of these wonderful groomers. Because my dogs are now seniors, they need a little extra love and understanding, and they get that at Kara's Paw-perfect groomers. I am extremely satisfied with every bit of service they receive, and the wonderful service I receive.

Nottingham Pet Clinic
120 Julian Pl ste f, SyracuseThis is one of the best vet clinics I've been to in Syracuse (and beyond). Not only does the staff seem to genuinely care about my pets, but the doctor I saw took the time to explain everything to me in detail and answer all of my questions.
In fact, I would give one of the staff members (Skylar) 5 stars, if I could give individual ratings. Skylar took numerous calls from me and ensured I got my cat's inhaler prescription as soon as possible. Their professionalism and thoughtfulness eased a lot of my anxieties about my pets' ailments.
I recommend this place for both dogs and cats - I've brought both here (after trying numerous others in the area).

Kathleen Congel, DVM
5092 Velasko Rd, SyracuseSimply put, Stack Vet hospital is the most efficient, knowledgeable and caring veterinary hospital we have ever experienced. I only wish we lived closer and didn’t have to use them for only surgical reasons as we are an hour and a half away. Dr. Snackard was exceptional in her care of our Libby. Couldn’t have asked for more! We give our highest recommendation!

Fairmount Animal Hospital: Behrens Losito Suzanne DVM
3705 W Genesee St, SyracuseThey were very kind and courteous during a very tough time with my 15 year old boxer/put mix. Thank you.

Mattydale Animal Hospital
2703 Brewerton Rd, SyracuseI have been coming here for almost 15 years with all my dogs and cats I have had. It is not corporatized- it is owned by Dr Lezkovitch- an incredible and very experienced vet that I have immense respect for. There have been several other good vets here over the years but she is always here and takes incredible care of my animals. Her office staff is beyond beyond beyond amazing- (not a typo- they are worth 3 beyonds!) patient, kind, knowledgeable, understanding, and helpful. And- they are the same people that have been here all 15 years! To me, that says that the business takes care of their people because there isn't that turnover you see in most businesses! I don't feel like they pressure unnecessary procedures; I have never felt rushed when I ask a million questions about taking good care of my animals; and they have been there through the very difficult times that come with being a fur-parent. They also are pretty good about getting my animals in as soon as they can. They are busy - which is another sign that they are good people, but still always get my fur-kids in asap when necessary. It is not cheap, but I think that is an issue everywhere and comparatively I believe they are fairly priced. Though I do wish they'd throw in a complimentary nail trim with exams, but that's just wishing, I suppose, lol! (And they have actually done that a couple times over the years to my immense gratitude- we always just like an extra treat lol) I have nothing but amazing things to say about all the people who work at Mattydale animal hospital!

Pet Sitting & Training

Blue Prints Dog Studio
303 Nottingham Rd, SyracuseWe've been going for a few weeks with our 3-month-old puppy! The staff in Syracuse are so kind and helpful. The puppy training Saturday mornings hits the sweet spot of low stress while being effective- the perfect amount of socialization and training for owners and pups. The trainers do a great job of guiding the session and jumping in to help as needed. We weren't sure about doing the 4-hour Tuesday/Thursday morning puppy socialization classes, but we've noticed a great impact on our pup. And since he's still too young to be out in the world without his full vaccinations, he's getting socialized really well very early on. That makes it totally worth it at such a young age. The trainer feedback isn't super detailed, but it is helpful and satisfactory to us.It's a great environment for puppies and their owners!

The Pawsitive Center for Dogs Inc
2314 Brewerton Rd, SyracuseLeah is the best! Our puppy, Willow, is completely obsessed with her. We started working with Leah in March when Willow was 5 months old and the two have been best girlfriends ever since (at least according to Willow). We love the combination of Private Lessons and Train & Play Sessions. Leah is kind, patient and thoughtful. She is flexible when it comes to training locations and always focuses on the needs of the dogs (and their humans). Not only is Leah wonderful, but she has the world’s most scrumptious assistant. We are all smitten with Keno ? ?

All the staff has been friendly and helpful and it’s great they have a pickuo ubtil 630p because I don’t usually get done with work till 6 or shortly after. My pup comes home tired every night I bring her! I’ve also used the groomer onsite for nail trimming and that’s been great. Highly recommend!

Riley's
312 Park St, SyracuseRiley's embodiments the cozy dining experience. Every time we've gone it's felt like going over to your aunt and uncles house for a meal (maybe that's because it's nestled in a cool older house in a bustling Syracuse neighborhood). The menu is seasonal and changes regularly depending on what the chef has on hand. You can always expect a good selection of sandwiches, burgers, pasta, salads, and fresh seafood. It's delicious elevated American fare. The servers are very kind and attentive, they're patient every time I inform them of my gluten sensitivity and ask questions. I like this spot because you really can't go wrong with one of their interesting salads! I loved the grilled romaine, zucchini, and fennel salad with chicken. I also really enjoyed the roast chicken from a different dinner. My partner likes their classic burger enough to get it both times we visited. Their chocolate torte is a great gluten free dessert. Rileys is a Syracuse staple worth enjoying with family and friends.

CopperTop Tavern Camillus
3380 Milton Ave, SyracuseCopper Top never disappoints for martinis and apps or a meal. Pomegranate martini is my go to, though I did try to order the winter Christmas martini but was told they were out of ingredients. Friendly, attentive bar service. Avocado egg rolls for our app though we considered late night menu that offers some discounted appetizers. Avocado egg rolls for the win. Though I thought the avocado was a bit chunky this batch, I prefer my egg rolls ingredients to be more blended. Large bar area with many televisions for games and sport events. Back dining room has fireplace, though I prefer the bar ambiance. Hopefully they decorate for the holidays. I love the vast choices of the menu. Copper Top catered the Christmas Shoppes VIP event we came from. Ziti, Chicken Crispers, French Onion Soup Dip, and meatballs. Another festive visit, will be back for some holiday cheer!

CNY SPCA OFFICE
5878 E Molloy Rd, SyracuseI would like to help feature a current dog that's available at the Syracuse SPCA named "Mitch." I had the opportunity to get to know him this past month visiting with him and even doing a meet and greet with my current dog Sam. He was nothing but a gentle gentlemen around her. I was very close to adopting him but my responsibilities in getting my elder dog to the eventual finish line took me out of contention. That being said, Mitch is legitimately one of the sweetest dogs I've ever come across in my travels. Even in his kennel, when other dog's are getting vocal and energetic, he is as cool/calm a customer as you'll find in that environment-- beyond chill. He knows how to sit and lay down, and if you hand him a treat, he's so gentle taking it from you it almost looks like he's doing it in slow motion! He would be a perfect dog for a home looking for a laid back and loving soul. Unfortunately, he's been there since this past November after arriving as a stray. Bottom line, he deserves a great owner and a great life. As of 3/25/2024 he's still there and ready for his forever home. The picture attached to this review is as recent as last week. So what are you waiting for? Go visit Mitch!! He's a gem! You won't regret it!! The end.
