I had a wonderful experience at the Shop City M&T bank today. I usually go the Camillus branch but today I ended up at Shop City. Ashley Q. was absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with. She helped beyond my expectations and explained my transaction in easy-to-understand terms. A+++ Ashley!

I go to almost every M&T Bank in the city of Syracuse for my job. Sometimes I have 2 deposits. Sometimes I have 5. Today I had 5. There were no cars behind me. It’s hard for me to walk. The lady said she couldn’t do my deposits through the drive through because it was more than 3. No bank has ever said this. Since there were literally no cars at all behind me, I asked if I could do three and come back around. She then lied to my face and told me they could only do three deposits a day. I understand if you don’t like your job, or that it’s tedious, but as long as you’re employed, you should do it. I was at the Shop City Branch today, 1/27/2023, around noon. Ridiculous.

Always someone new they are very slow I was in line for 15 minutes with only two customers ahead of me and the bank teller was having a whole conversation instead of taking me very unprofessional

Staff is constantly changing, high turnaround never seem have same teller, fewer employees, service is slow and this was before COVID-19. Now with COVID-19 the Drive thru is pathetic as waiting time is about 10 minutes with one vehicle in front of you. 2 or 3 cars in front your wait time is roughly 20 minutes or more. Over 10 years ago when Partners Trust and prior HSBC was at Shop City had excellent costumer service. Over time, bank acquisitions have killed the banking industry as they are For Profit and high interest rates and other fees.

Avoid M&T Banks entirely. See my review for M&T in Fayetteville, NY. Their business practices are not ethical, but beyond that, they will cause harm. See the review.

I'm a realtor working with this bank doing a short sale for a client of mine. These guys win the award for worst bank to work with in my book. Having completed 40 short sales in my career and having communicated with may servicers and banks for short sales I have to say these guys are the worst.
