We're about halfway through our kitchen remodel and our experience has been a good one. When it comes to finding a cabinet supplier, you’re dealing with a combination of designer and cabinet maker unless you find an independent designer and negotiate a design fee. I worked with Darren and went with the higher quality Wood-Mode/Brookhaven cabinets.Darren really listened and understood what we wanted, and has been very thoughtful in his approach every step of the way. His attention to detail has been persistent through each step of the process.The cabinets (based on the showroom examples) are very high quality. Photos online and consumer reviews support this. We are awaiting delivery at this stage. Our design has been fairly customized, and the options far exceed most competitors. Basically, it seems you can do just about whatever you want with the cabinets within very wide boundaries.On the downside, our order was delayed from the initial turnaround estimate. This worked out better for our schedule, but was not expected. Ultimately, a few weeks delay for a higher quality, more thoughtfully designed kitchen is a small inconvenience, but notable in a review nonetheless for anyone looking specifically for a quick turnaround. Additionally, this was not our lowest cost option, though we did choose more premium options and followed that track so it's the only perspective I can comment on. There are a lot of variables to cost, but I found the higher quality cabinet details offered were worth the additional cost that we decided to go with.Based on this experience, I would highly recommend Darren at Modern Kitchens and the Wood-Mode/Brokhaven cabinets for anyone looking for high quality cabinets with a very a well thought out design.

So thrilled with the service provided by MKS! Had a tough time deciding on a new look for our kitchen. Visited the store 4 times before figuring out what we wanted and getting started. Their staff was wonderful. They were patient, listened to our concerns, and offered suggestions all along the way. Rick Hardter helped us design a kitchen to make the most of our current footprint, while achieving a fresh, modern look and incorporating space saving measures. He researched options, provided us with mock layouts so we could envision it, helped us design a custom cabinet, and spent time getting it just right with us. Couldn’t be happier with our new kitchen. We visited many stores, even outside the area, to find what we were seeking and MKS nailed it.

Tracey, at Modern Kitchens of Syracuse has laid out 3 kitchens for me. Each time I shopped around and always ended back with an experienced, sales person who has a great eye for design and patience for those of us who think they do. He was so helpful and in the end we got the kitchen of our dreams. Everyday, we both express how much we love our kitchen. Thanks Tracey.

I went to Modern Kitchens for a complete kitchen remodel hoping they could make efficient use of my modest-sized kitchen. They gave me a lot of information, and I left a detailed drawing of my existing layout. They told me they would work up a new design in 4 weeks. I called after the 4 weeks and was told it would be another 1 - 2 weeks. I never heard back. So they set my project back 6 weeks. I'm guessing I was ignored because mine wasn't a high-end kitchen. If that was the case, they could have told me that up front instead of wasting my time.

We built a new home and purchased all of our cabinetry, counter tops and appliances from MKS. Our MKS designer Tracey Shultz was professional, knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with. Tracey really took his time and listened to what we needed. We feel very fortunate that we had such a top notch designer to help us. I would highly recommend MKS and Tracey!

We had the privilege and pleasure of working with David Jureller on the complete remodel of our kitchen, all of our bathrooms and the laundry room. David is a consummate professional and so knowledgeable about design and alternatives. It is also worth noting that he worked so well with our contractor. A couple of the cabinets and appliance accessories were not right as can happen and he immediately got the suppliers to send substitutes. He was always available to respond to us either by email or by phone and more than a few times when we were wrestling with details about the master bath while construction was proceeding, he was available and helpful to discuss shelving options "on the fly" so to speak. The end result between the contractor and MKS was that the kitchen and bathrooms exceeded all of our expectations . I would recommend David and MKS without any reservations whatsoever. Before you go anywhere else, do yourself a favor and call him and visit with him first. Thank you again David.

We had a great experience using Tracey Shults for our kitchen and bath design. He offered great advice, for example making our island a little wider and adding seating on the end. We sit at the end of the island everyday now. Perfect for conversation and overlooking our living area. He also gave us several options reference budget and was not pushy/up selling us.
