Went to the Erie blvd store for the first time for cohesive bandages for my dogs tail as he is suffering from hot spots and allergies. Spoke with Erik at checkout who was very friendly and helpful. Gave me other suggestions as far as shampoos and discussed different types of foods that may affect my dogs allergies. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this store. Great products.

The Cicero store manager, Charlie, exemplifies true care when it comes to his customers. What he did this past Wednesday night needs commending this store and manager. I was left with my son's dog who ran out of dog food Wednesday night and in a rush to get to this store by closing-7pm, I panicked as a snow plow was in front of me driving 10 miles below the speed limit. I called the store twice letting them know I was on my way. I got there at 6:58 and Charlie (the manager) said he would have waited for me to get there! What awesome service but even more, what an awesome person! Thanks jl

Not sure what’s happened to this location. It used to be my favorite. I always go out of my way to drive to this one. Done with that! The employees in the pet shop area are so disgustingly rude (specifically Tiki who loudly made fun of my haircut which I got for medical reasons). They sit around doing nothing & insulting/gossiping about customers/other employees while the animals are crammed into filthy cages that clearly need cleaning. The manager has no authority over them. They’ve ruined this store honestly.

Just bought my almost 5 year old his first pet... A Pink Toe Tarantula... The folks there couldn't have been more helpful! Super nice, very thorough with answering questions. Thanks again!!!

Made a regular stop at CountryMax in Dewitt on March 28, 2023 to stock up on dog treats, cat treats, birdseed and squirrel food. Jules was working the register and was extremely helpful in answering our questions regarding birdseed (sale items, best sellers, etc....). We were concerned about switching to a different brand of birdseed. Jules was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful. We love this stores variety. Everything from gardening, bird and bat boxes, items to assist pollinators, indoor plant pots, pet supplies, children's items, etc...

This store has a fantastic selection and friendly service; however, I sadly must question the care of the small animals in their possession. My husband and I were interested in a guinea pig recently, and when we stopped into the store for the second time (as we were considering purchasing him), the associate went to pick him up and he was immediately lethargic and laying on his side afterwards. It took us calling the associate back to inform them that the guinea pig did not appear well, at which point they took him into isolation. His nasal passages were visibly clogged and his breathing was distressed. I left my name and number and requested a status update on the guinea pig either way, which they acknowledged, and never heard back from anyone. I can only assume the poor fella didn't make it. I own several small animals (all which have come from adoption centers to-date), and understand some are susceptible to illness at birth/very young ages. Additionally, I understand some stores carry animals from questionable breeders. I am surely hoping CountryMax is doing business with reputable breeders, and this was a one-off occurrence. However, after this experience, I am saddened by what we observed, and simply wish I heard back from a management member about the status of this animal.

Good variety. Some things are a lottle pricey. That's expected nowadays though. Fast courteous service. Would recommend.

This location has extremely helpful and friendly staff! Always greeted when we walk in, helpful with answering any questions- especially Tiki! You can see how well she cares for ALL of the animals, takes time to help customers and knows what she is doing.

Great store, Friendly front end staff, Lousy signage for pricing especially in the garden area including live flowers and soil amendments. Birdseed bags are not priced as well. It makes shopping take too long getting price checks . I may switch to Walmart.
