I don't understand how anyone could leave less than 5 stars for these gentlemen. I had a wonderful experience and was greeted with compassion and understanding. They definitely know their stuff!

My family has experienced the worst case of compassion, lack thereof, and professionalism working with CNY Medical. Unless you are private pay, forget service, care, compassion and professionalism. In the Medicare/Medicaid environment they refused service and assessments of my brother's motorized wheelchair while he resided in a skilled nursing care facility. We requested an assessment of his chair so we could be proactive as a family and prepared for any uncovered costs. They were unwilling to communicate and assess for close to a year, meanwhile it malfunctioned leaving him bedridden. Not until he was in Palliative Care in his last days did they show up. The sales and repair staff are very friendly and professional. I can always count on competent and courteous service from them when my wheelchair needs repair or when it's time for replacement.HOWEVER--the woman who handles phone calls is TERRIBLE.She accused me of abusing my previous chair when it needed to be replaced after six years. The expected life of the chair is only five years.She accused me of riding my wheelchair all the way across the city from my home to their shop, scolding, "They're not supposed to be used as cars." When I told her I had not ridden the wheelchair all the way from my home, I had ridden it from the nearest bus stop, she still said that was wrong because "they're not supposed to be used as cars." (How many people ride a bus to the stop nearest their destination, and then drive a car the rest of the way??)"They're not supposed to be used as cars" seems to be her go-to rationale for scolding wheelchair users for using their chairs outside their homes. Well, no, they're not supposed to be used as cars, they're meant to be used as legs! And people who don't have disabilities are often known to leave their homes and use their legs to go walking outdoors. This obnoxious woman apparently thinks people with disabilities ought to be confined inside their homes.Recently my chair's seat belt broke, and she told me that wasn't covered by my insurance and I would have to pay out of pocket for a replacement. I contacted my insurance care manager, who assured me that replacing the safety belt is covered. I asked the care manager to call and explain that to the obnoxious CNY Medical woman. The obnoxious woman then told my care manager that the belt must have broken because I ran over it in the wheelchair, because I don't wear it when I'm using the chair.Hello? If I weren't in the habit of wearing it, how would I have noticed it was broken?Over the years I have had nothing but positive experiences with their sales and repair staff. But this phone woman is so unpleasant to deal with that if she says one more obnoxious thing to me, or to my care manager about me, I intend to switch to another vendor for my mobility equipment needs.

John helped us with picking out a portable power chair for my son. To say he was helpful and professional is an understatement. He really went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of and to make sure we had everything we need. And now I know where to start for all of my sons future needs. Thank you again.!

Our family has relied on CNY Medical for years. While Tim G is kind and helpful the billing department is rude and nasty. Our wheelchair was held hostage by his rude woman for nearly 6 months with a “Irefuse to apologize for your insurance company” comment. Cindy was not at all understanding towards our predicament while trying to get my daughter’s wheelchair before school starts. We are taking our business elsewhere
