Lakeside is a spectacular shop nestled in Stony Brook Village-a boutique specializing in a wonderful selection of fine wines The shop also has an array of quality spirits.The owner, Christophe, has chosen his inventory with passion and care. Unlike the vast majority of sellers in the area, Christophe has incredibly impressive knowledge about what he sells, and his suggestions are always spot on; he seems to have direct experience with every wine he buys.If you need to purchase a wine gift or want to explore the different profiles of wines, this is your place. Shopping here you are getting far more for your money than just a bottle. Since I have shopped at Lakeside , my knowledge and appreciation of wine has grown exponentially!A beautiful store with a passionate owner makes for a wonderful experience.

There is wine and then there is wine. Lakeside Wine Emotions isn’t your basic run-of-the-mill wine store. This place is truly unique. The owner, Christophe, has curated a collection of the world’s finest varietals at all price points.You won’t usually find your basic, mass-produced wine here, but you will find an even better replacement for the same value. Further, for those looking to spend more, his high-end collection represents the best of the best. You can rest assured that any bottle you choose in this store was thoughtfully selected by the owner, who knows wine so comprehensively that you can be sure what you are getting is exquisite.If you want something special, this is the place to go. Christophe can recommend the perfect bottle based on your wants and needs- from a dinner with family, to a host/hostess gift, to a bottle for someone special. If you are looking to explore the world of wine, there is no better place as the best bottles are right before you.If you LIKE wine, you will leave Lakeside Wine Emotions LOVING wine. A resounding disappointment, never to return…I came in on a Monday and browsed an interesting selection of fine wine, predominantly European. The store’s employee engaged me in conversation and ultimately told me to stop by on a day other than Monday to chat with the owner. So, with high hopes, I popped in on a Tuesday. Upon entry and introduction, the owner seemed genuinely surprised yet utterly indifferent to the matter of discussing wine and my potential for buying a bottle. He barely looked up from his phone and waved me away to search on my own. It was as if he keeps the collection private and expects silent admiration? Such haughtiness, I recommend that he enjoys his fine wine by himself!

This is my favorite wine store on Long Island. It has wines for all budgets, ranging from everyday bottles to collector classics. The wines are beautifully displayed and arranged by grape type. Owner Christophe is a unique character who has very high standards. He tastes every wine before stocking it and rejects the vast majority of the wines distributors offer. If a wine he has previously offered has a new vintage he dislikes, he discontinues it. Christophe has an uncanny ability to ascertain and remember the preference profiles of all of his regular customers, and he helps to curate their selections, while staying in their preferred budget. He never tries to upsell. If you just want standard brands, go to a different store.

This is possibly the best wine store I've ever been to. It's got wines for any budget, and you can be sure that you are getting the best possible wines at a given price point -- from inexpensive to mid-level to the priciest ones. The owner, Christophe, is always willing to share his expertise with you, and if you frequent the store, he learns your preferences, and will tailor his suggestions to your palate, making sure that you leave the store with the wine you will like for any given occasion, in a desired price range (he never upsells!), and of the particular style you are in the mood for. Don't be afraid to talk to him and ask him your wine-related questions -- he knows wine, is a pleasure to deal with, and a lot of fun to talk to.

I am not someone who usually posts reviews, but felt the need to share my opinion after a recent visit to my favorite wine shop. I'm a wine enthusiast/drinker/collector who has shopped at wine stores all over Long Island and Manhattan. When visiting those other shops, I was consistently reminded why Lake Side Emotions is the only place I should continue spending my money on wine. Christophe has a unique and high quality selection of a large variety of wines. He also offers the best values when purchasing by the case (which he always insists on carrying out to my car for me). His wine knowledge is vast and he always makes great recommendations. I was shocked to see a few negative reviews speaking to his character and one review even took the initiative to recommend a different shop for potential customers. Although that other shop may provide a pleasant experience as well, their inventory is not as carefully hand-picked as the offering at Lake Side Emotions. The process of selecting wine with Christophe is personalized and enjoyable, yet also taken seriously. If you're seeking mediocre, commercial-branded wine and/or focused solely on price point, then you should continue to shop elsewhere. Lake Side Emotions is a true gem and wine enthusiast's paradise.

Take your money elsewhere to a business that respects and welcomes its customers, no matter how much knowledge they have about wine. The owner may know a lot about wine (from what I hear) but he knows nothing about Norma human interaction and customer service. This is not a misinformed, one off interaction that I'm basing my opinion on. I've been to this place several times and have had the same terrible experience each time. If it walks like an a*** and talks like an ass...you can guess the rest. I recommend Mora's Fine Wine in Setauket. Much smaller wine store but the owner Rich and employee Adam are wonderful and welcoming. They actually take the time to chat and find out what may be a good bottle for you/occasion. They have a good wine selection (different grape varieties at various price points) as well as great whisky selection.

Happy to be back supporting this business! Friendly and helpful, safe shopping experience. Very cool they offer free wine bottle chilling! It takes 7 minutes though, so plan or call ahead.

Christophe is very knowledgeable and the store has a great selection of quality wines at all prices. I like that Christophe is aware of how much the customer is comfortable spending and always makes intelligent suggestions within that price range.
