My Town Marketplace could be a totally sufficient grocery store except for the people they hire to work the checkout lanes. They are so unfriendly, completely dismissive, and utterly useless. I would have to work extra hard simply to be so bad at my job. Calling them 'mediocre' would be a huge stretch in their favor. I know hiring is hard, but the people that own this store must not care about much.

Emanuels was a great grocery store; My Town Marketplace is not. The previous managers/owners made the store easy to navigate, had quality products, took requests, had a friendly staff and always made me feel respected as a loyal customer. I actually looked forward to shopping every Thursday, which I did for over a decade. The new management is impersonal and won't even talk to me if I have an issue. I have started to drive the extra miles to go to Adams in Kingston since they are kind to their customers and generous with the community. Wednesday nights are 10% off the entire purchase. Maybe my new nickname will be Wednesday instead of Thursday.

Good for quick shops of necessities totaling less than $100 but would be really pricey to do a big $400 shop here as the selection is somewhat limited and prices are on average 15-20% higher than the big box stores. I prefer to shop at locally owned, non-chain stores but given the sometimes exorbitant prices and reduced diversity of brands it is really not where you go for a big shop. Still, the small size means it is easier to navigate and there are deals like 10% off total purchases over $100 on weds or thurs (can't recall). Really, set up to gouge weekenders who value proximity and speed over price. Overall, prices skyrocketed after this was sold (used to be Emmanuelle's) a few years ago. This was exacerbated by packaged goods inflation nationally, of course. Concomitantly, employee satisfaction seems to have dropped; I've had several checkers openly complain about fair compensation in the last 18 months. Bottom line: I still shop here at least 1x week since it is the most proximate venue.

The quality has really declined since the ownership change. Produce is horrible. Bakery items stale. Prices more expensive than NYC on most items.

Nice produce, decent selection of frozen, pantry, etc. Meat and dairy are a bit pricier than expected. Watch for mis-merchandised product--it makes the prices very misleading.

Went in to rent a carpet cleaner. When I got it home, there was a note on it that said it leaked and did not work. I called back within minutes and talked to the young lady who rented it to me, and she said they would not issue me a refund. Since I had my furniture moved to the middle of the floor it was imperative to do it today. She said she was the manager, but when my wife returned it, the real manager came out, apologized, and gave her a refund. This little customer service kid knew nothing about kindness or customer service. Rude and not accommodating. We went to Walmart and got a cleaner for the day.

No one ever knows the hours. They should post them on the store sign: Mon-Sat 8-8 Sun 8-6

Apparently this store subscribes to the notion that the customer is wrong and can be spoken too in any rude manner they prefer. As a lifelong area resident, I will never set foot in this establishment again. From the deli department workers, to the management, to the checkers, all extremely rude to me after a hot food item fell off the shelf and splattered all over me. Not only was there no apology, they totally blamed me and treated me to nasty insults, even as I was walking out the door, and refused to give me anyone's name, telling me I was not entitled to personal information! Appalling, and on Mother's Day, no less. Never in my life have I been treated this nasty in any store and I left in tears. In contrast, I went to Davenport's Farm Stand for the few items I needed, and not only were they super nice, they gave me a bouquet of tulips when they saw how upset I was. Needless to say, I recommend Davenport's.

Really nice store. Great bakery, meat department, produce, and beer selection. Prices are a little high but it's a mom and pop and the only place to get groceries for 15 miles in either direction

The fruits and vegetables are rarely the freshest. Also, it's wise to check the expiry dates on milk, cream, yogurt etc. They've got all the basics but you'll pay more than in larger (and more distant) supermarkets. Friendly cashiers seem not to stay too long.

No sense of community and who their regulars are. They stock expired goods and / or goods that have expired before the date they are supposed to but are spoiled and will not take returns. I presume they aren't handling goods with proper storage before stocking or they are getting some sort of discount for almost expired. Who knows, but what I do know is they don't care when you talk with them about it. Your either $ or not $ to them. Lisa, one of the owners is the worst. I'm sharing my experience with friends who like me have shopped there for years when it was Emmanuel's, I'm hearing similar experiences so I've decided to express my disappointment here.

Deli is dirty and food sucks at Stone Ridge location. I'm going to Rosendale where the meat is fresher and the deli is clean, food tastes good, and they wrap the pre made sandwiches so that the prepackaged condiments don't touch the food .

I have been shopping here for 17 years. Within the last 3 years the quality of their produce has declined significantly. There is a 50/50 chance that it will be spoiled and if not, it will be tomorrow, you better use it that day. I have also gotten rotten eggs, and moldy apple gate cheese there. The worst part is that the prices are ridiculous! I used to shop there weekly. Now along with many other locals, we go there when we are desperate and need just a FEW things, pure convenience. We usually regret that too. It’s a shame. The only positive thing is the few remaining long time staff that I love! Stay away and take the trip into Kingston!!!
