“Absolutely amazing place for kids to grow. I love the progression from Mommy and Me classes into their first time at school programs. Ms. Lucie, Ms.Fran and Ms.Beth have worked with all 3 of my children over the years, two of which have been diagnosed with autism. They always created a warm and inviting environment while offering professional advice and strategies to help us as parents navigate the toddler years! Most recently, I had a birthday party for my daughter that was turning 4. She is autistic as are many of her friends, so we weren't sure how everyone would do being this was most first experience at a friends birthday party. Every child was full of smiles , not a single meltdown! The teachers truly respected their needs and created an environment that was enjoyable for all. From planning to execution they made it the most stress free party planning experience for me! I would definitely recommend them for children under 6 yrs old.”
“I definitely recommend this preschool! All teachers are there as mothers for children. They really care about all children. This is a very clean preschool, which is very important. My daughter loved to go there. Every morning she ran there with a smile on her face. She went to Miss Daniel and Miss Nicole group, they are just perfect teachers, thanks to them. And I want to express my special gratitude to gorgeous Miss Vicki which is the main person there. She has a wonderful personality, children and parents love her. Thank you! “I have to say, everyone feels scared having to leave a child at a day care but when I interviewed the place, Audree and Adrienne, I’ve got to say I instantly knew that I can trust them. My son started there at just 4 months old and he’s is now 2 years old! There hasn’t been any incidents that have happened or any reasoning that the day care was wrongful in. They are amazing!When you don’t have or if you forgot anything, they go out of their way to make sure your child is taken care of. My son will definitely be there until he caps out which is 5 years old!I highly recommend ?”

“This is the perfect place for one's art to flourish! A beautiful art school, exhibition space, and cultural environment at Snug Harbor's Cultural Center and Botanic Gardens, and really great people! Where else can I teach Cello at the Staten Island Conservatory, and exhibit my art work a couple of doors down amid beautiful botanic gardens, historical museums, Chinese gardens, a Victorian concert hall, and large beautifully kept grounds with droves of New York City's well maintained historic buildings!”

“Such a special preschool.. all child-made art work.. child-led projects.. constant changes of units of studies and thematic curriculum.. lots of classic song singing.. cute song videos for parents.. festive holiday celebrating.. lots of writing skill practice.. adorable Mother’s/fathers Day class.. Halloween parade.. and lots of little adorable additions like the teddy bear curriculum and sending mail from your child and handmade gifts.. impressive graduation.. my child graduated 2 years ago and I still appreciate the cuteness of this preschool.. he grew so much that year <3”

“This past year my daughter attended community resources preschool in a 12-1-2 classroom. I cannot say enough nice things about the entire staff. They treated my child with such care. My daughter learned so much. Her social skills blossomed and she was so excited to show me what she learned each day. Her teachers kept me informed of her progress every step of the way. I now feel she is more then ready for kindergarten. I only wish this school went into the older grades.”

“I do wish more parents put some honest reviews because this is a school for children with special needs and we deserve to know the input from more parents. I do wish the staff did interact more with the parents on a more personal level. I must say the school is extremely clean and well maintained with its appliances, rec center toys and bathrooms etc. everything looks new and in great working order. The staff are very on top of a regiment. A few things I don’t particularly like. I noticed the kids wait on the bus prior to the staff coming out to get them from the bus and in my opinion they have the children waiting a bit too long as they as they are very young, and many wait on the bus all day early in the morning as it is. My main concern in which I dropped a star- as a parent I cannot walk my child into her classroom. Now I understand it can be a distraction. But I haven’t been allowed to as much pass the front doors without a No your not allowed to take them to their class! It’s a bit alarming I can’t see my daughter in her classroom setting unless I have a scheduled appointment. Nor can you pick your child up from the classroom. I must admit this to be a bit concerning. The parents are not allowed no where near the classrooms when class is in session. I can understand if they are undressing the kids in the classroom to change their diaper and it’s a privacy matter. Aside from that parents should once in a while at least be able to escort or pick up their child from the classroom itself. My other kids that were in pre k I was always allowed to pick up from their class or drop off directly to the classroom not have to wait outside and wait for my child to be escorted by a staff member only. The staff are nice but again it is not any personable relations. I truly believe they just believe their way of doing things structured the school and I get that but again in my opinion there should be more open to parent opinion, reasoning. More consistent communication with parents not just if they need something for your child. I heard there was a pta never got a notice or any information on it further. I write this to shed some light I do believe this school is filled with great structure but can use more compassion for the families is all. As parents this day and age many of us need the extra assurance especially when our kids are labeled special needs the parents need special attention as well ☺️. Thankyou for listening.”

“Pretty good school in my opinion!I went here from pre-k all the way through 5th grade, both my parents and I enjoyed my Christian education and the amazing teachers and staff at the academy. During those years I was there, the classrooms were warm and welcoming, the cafeteria and gymnasium/auditorium was always kept clean and neat. The curriculum I was taught during those times were pretty good, perhaps more emphasis on the math or science concepts would have been more beneficial leading into middle school but overall I felt I have always learned so much each day. The teachers and staff members have instilled good values in me and students there as well.Although I wished there were always more organized team sports or athletics in the past, I do see the school has made continuous efforts and formed competitive basketball and archery teams recently. Something I believe would make the school better is to have a more diverse student population of different ethnicities and backgrounds. A diverse student population helps young students learn about having an open mindset that would ultimately prepare them for the real world.I have made a lot of long lasting friends at Gateway and still keep in touch with many of my teachers today! I would recommend this school if you are a family who enjoys a friendly atmosphere than compared to other larger private schools around Staten Island.”

“I ended up having to pull my son out of a previous daycare because of the neglect that he was experiencing.Friends was a savior for myself and my family over the past 6 years. These people have become more than just a school but the safest place for them besides my own arms. They care for my kids like they are their own babies. I wish they had a K-8 Program.”

The management team are best in a class professionals who are also very responsive to families’ needs. The curriculum is great regardless of the age of your child. “I sent my daughter here for upk and prek4, I am so pleased!! All the staff here is wonderful and kind. My daughter would come home and talk about all the teachers that helped and what she learned. We especially love Ms Carina!! She was my daughters teacher 2 years in a row and it was so hard leaving her to go to kindergarten.They go above and beyond for graduation, which is usually held across the street in the Hilton. It was such a memorable experience, it felt like a high school graduation. It was absolutely beautiful 2 years in a row.The staff in the office is also helpful and accommodating.I am so happy we chose kiddie academy for her and we sure miss it.”
