Absolutely amazing!! Dr. Meleleo and his veterinarian team at both locations are world class. We are incredibly thankful for the empathy, thoughtfulness, and proactiveness with their care for our pets.

A lot of bad 1 star reviews. This place has doctors that don't seem to know how to properly diagnosis pets which isn't good for owners or the pets. It's terrible that people are getting charged these insane amounts of money for the wrong diagnosis, or being told the pets are OK and actually aren't. I would look into bringing my pet to a different location.

North location:I rarely give five star ratings so if they had ‘halves’ it would be 4 1/2.They are professional and a clean space. The techs clearly are animal lovers and the vets are very willing to talk. My dog drags me to their door when he gets out of the car!

If I could give a zero rating I would. I 100% believe that my kitten caught chlamydia from there office on Amboy Rd after a previous visit which was not related. They over charge and take or convince you to take additional test to confirm the condition your pet may have. I feel the testing they did was unnecessary...and/or not advised to us in the correct form of action. They have already responded to their response on another platform and they informed me that I am no longer welcome to use them......I would not bring my animals to your location nor would I recommend. So no worries that you wouldn't service us. For the safety of future customers, please ensure you sanitizer your facility.

Prices have gotten outrageous! Emergency service is not the best! I really liked this place when I started taking Charli, but they have gotten very money hungry. Another patient was telling me it's close to 1000 for neutering! That's ridiculous! We are now looking elsewhere on the island.

This place should not be taking x-rays in the office if they do not know how to read them. My dog was having a hard time walking and they told me she was constipated and sent me home(After spending $850). The next day my dog couldn’t walk and is paralyzed. She had a herniated disk and not constipated!!If they would have sent me to hospital that night my dog would have had a much better chance of walking. Vet has no compassion for animals and just a cash cow. Please be aware and you can find better vets/hospital that care for your animal and much cheaper right across the outerbridge

I would highly recommend Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital South! I've been taking my dog, Martini, to PPAH for several years now. I used to take her to another animal hospital and when I switched to PPAH, I couldn't have been happier. My dog is always in the best care with her vet, Dr. Jerrica Masteopasqua. She is thorough, kind and compassionate. When my dog needed to be hospitalized a few years ago, both the vets and entire staff (front desk, vet techs, managers), we're incredible. They explained everything with lots of detail, notified me of costs beforehand and made sure that my dog was their main priority. I was able to contact them 24/7 and received multiple updates throughout the day. When calling, the front desk is knowledge and is always able to accommodate my dog whether it's a well-check or sick appointment. The vet techs and managers handle everything so well and make sure to notify you of any side effects from shots, how to administer medication, etc. especially Daniella C. When ordering food, they're quick to get back to me on which location has it in stock and always has it available when I arrive. If you are looking for a vet that gives your dog/cat top-notch attention and care, I would definitely recommend PPAH.

My daughter use and the dog has wet poop but doctor that she use normal is not available. So she go pleasant plains and she pay close to a thousand dollars!!!! They tell her she need pictures of insides but dog only has wet poop for two days!! And shot for throw up but dog did not throw up even one. She was so scared and trust so she did and they sent her with a medicine. She tell me nurse is child and cannot answer any question so how is she nurse? My daughter she can not pay price again so back to doctor that use normal and the doctor was in so much shock! Doctor said he would give the medicine first because dog did not throw up and if did not work then maybe then take pictures and did not know how a dog with wet poop for two days came out to this much money and this is a doctor very long time! Also said he would not give shot to dog if no throw up. But pleasant plain make her think dog very very sick we have never been told so much money for just wet poop! And my daughter dog better in two days. I took my dog when baby once but they tell me if they do not see her every month then she needs to see doctor every time for shots that is almost 100 dollars! I go to vet now only need to go see one time a year and she will let people see nurse as long as dog sees doctor one time a year. I call other vet they tell me only need to see every 6 month so why pleasant plains need to see every month!!! This is a bad place that scare you into giving money i ask everyone before come here call other vet in staten island and see how they are and then you will see how much this place take from you! And do not bring puppy here no where else make you come back every month to see doctor just ask other place! They get away because no one know better! I am sorry for long reply but this is so angry making me I cannot believe them!! Do not give them so much money if they make you think your dog very sick they will try to get every cent they can get!! All the nurses very very young I do not believe they are trained but probably easy to pay another way to not trust!

My beagle mix has also gotten good care here. I am only giving three stars as it has become almost impossible to schedule an appointment at this location since they opened a second location on the north shore. If your pet has an issue and you want them to be seen quickly, which is usually the case when you call the vet, they 90% of the time push you to the north shore location which is not at all convenient. Half the reason I picked this vet in the first place 8 years ago was its proximity to my house.

Have to give a 1 star based on an experience I had. Long story short: there was no follow up on my dogs health. Blood work results were not provided in a timely manner. I was told I would receive my dogs bloodwork results within 2 days. I never heard anything so I ended up calling on the 4th day. I was told that the vet was out and I would receive a call once they had them. Well, I never got a call. Instead I got a text on the 5th day. I felt that they treated my dogs case as business. Although the vet who treated my dog was nice, she has a lot to grow in. I know she is new but follow up is important & receiving a TEXT is not what I paid for. Given my pets condition, a phone call would've been appreciated.
