“Favorite liquor store on Staten Island at the moment. For a small store, has a quality selection of products. The staff is consistently friendly and helpful. The prices are GREAT! I primarily come here for wine but the other prices seem competitively priced as well. Feel safe swinging by to pick up anything I need!”

“Randomly found this place while looking for a bottle of sake for my wife and I to enjoy along with our sushi. I'm very happy I found this place, the shop doesn't have an overwhelming variety of wines. It's more of a curated list of select bottles and I greatly appreciate it. The clerk knew a lot about the various wines, had some great recommendations, and the prices were very reasonable.
For someone like me that doesn't typically shop for wine or really know much about it, this was a great place to go. The whole process was so much easier than going to a typical liquor store and going down aisles and aisles of bottles with no guidance whatsoever on what's a good wine or a good pairing with certain foods. I look forward to buying more wine here in the future and hopefully expanding my knowledge of wine in the process.”

“Jimmy Lin is a straight shooter. He doesn't stock everything - I fancy single Islay malt scotch and he hasn't got any. But if I asked for it he'd order it and his price would beat every other liquor store in the Stapleton-Clifton-Rosebank sprawl. A while back I asked Jimmy to order me a specialty tequila (Hornitos Black Barrel Añejo - tequila aged in whisky barrels). He did so, it arrived quick and the price was rock bottom. He stocks all of the (extra dry Italian) white wines I favour and a $8 bottle of Cavit is a dollar cheaper than any other store in the area. Jimmy also sells Lotto scratch offs. Bottom line: as small shopkeepers go, he's the best. Check him out.”
“The owner is very sweet. I was hosting a girls night at my house & my dad was in charge of getting us wine. I sent him a picture of what we wanted but called the store in advance to tell them that my dad will coming by and is not knowledgeable. The man i spoke with said “dont worry ill take care of it” very sweet staff, great customer service & will definitely support this business again.”
“I had called a few liquor stores on Staten Island, asking about Ardbeg. Most had either never heard of it, or only carried the 10-year. One store owner asked me, after a long pause, "Hardback?" I was about to give up and just order online, but I decided to call a few more. Enter Empire Wine & Liquors. This store had the exact kind of Ardbeg I was looking for (Corryvreckan) plus a few others. When I arrived, I saw that they carried a wide variety of scotches in general, not just Ardbeg. The owner, Johnny, said they could order special ones on request.
What really impressed me though was not the size of their selection, but how friendly and knowledgeable Johnny was. As he got my Ardbeg, he asked me if I liked peat. I said yes. To my surprise, he invited me to taste some peaty scotches. Before each, he introduced the flavor characteristics, and after each, he told me the price of a bottle. All of this was in a really friendly and accommodating way, so I never felt any pressure to buy. Each comment or question seemed to be tailored to help me find a right Scotch for my own flavor and price preferences. This was my first visit, too, on a Monday night. It was really nice to be unexpectedly treated with such care and attention. At one point during the tasting, a small family walked in and exchanged warm greetings with Johnny as they bought something, and I thought "I'm far from the only one who had a great experience here."
TL;DR I had a great experience here looking for a special whisky. Johnny was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The service and selection were both leagues beyond that of any other liquor store I’ve been to on Staten Island. This will be my go-to place to buy liquor from now on.”

“On a positive note this new store location has a wide variety of wines. The liquor variety is the same as most liquid stores. Pricing for all items is very competitive probably a bit cheaper. The aisles are somewhat narrow. However, I will shop there to avoid going to New Jersey and paying a toll and save on gas. My biggest concern is the congestion in the parking lot. No fault of the store.”
