When in Germany, Lidl is the place I go, affordable, with a wide variety of products. I was pleased to find one near me on Staten Island. I hope it will live up to its reputation.

Get more staffs!!! Literally just one staff working at the counter during closing and ya”ll blaming the consumers moving so slow and delaying you guys to get off work . OPEN the register lines than gez and not to mention the employees having a lot nasty attitude

They gave great products. The issue is that there are not enough manned registers. This is a supermarket, not a pharmacy. Self checkout is a chore and only accepts credit cards. Lately, they only have paper bags. These bags are way too fragile to use for expensive groceries.

I only shop there for certain products. I buy berries for their goods price even knowing they won't have a long shelf life. I bought raspberries and came home and found hidden moldy ones. I brought them back to the store without the receipt (not knowing they changed their policy that you now need a receipt). It was $3.58. I normally wouldn't even bother but I was in the neighborhood. I spoke to the supervisor who was very young and very impressed by his authority. He spoke to me as if I had a 10,000.00 product I was returning. I told him he can check by my Lidl number but refused to do so. As I was leaving he handed me a circular and pointed to the customer service number that I should call with his smirk and cocky attitude. So for a few bucks Lidl lost a customer and Aldi will gain one. Very poor customer service. He could have let it slide and told me to remember that I now needed the receipt. Oh...I guess you get what you pay for in produce as well as staff.

Prices are really cheap but varieties are limited for choice but still the price are very much cheaper in all products and pricing are similar to walmart but only the issue is items brand are limited to choice.
