Above all: Michael Gough is excellent for doing your taxes. I've gone to him for at least 7 years. Super smart, helpful, and informative. Highly recommend.Okay, now to my one-star rating: I get an email to book my yearly tax appointment. I put in my name and phone number, and they book me with my guy Michael. 10am for Saturday. I get a text confirmation. So I think I'm good to go.No call the day before for confirmation, but at least I got the text. I show up at 9:50am, and I see an elderly couple go with Michael for a 10am appointment. The woman at the front desk said she has me for 10:30am; this doesn't make sense, as you can only book appointments on the hour for tax appointments. I show her my text, and she apologizes and repeats the 10:30am time.When do I end up being seen? 10:50am of course. I end up being told that the computer systems allow double-booking.Big waste of time, and my taxes were done in like 25 minutes. If you go here, book with Michael Gough and confirm yourself the day before. He's the best. But the company has to fix their systems to prevent us from wasting so much time in that office. Just a very frustrating experience.

Literally THE WORST! I made a 3pm appointment for today last week, specifically letting them know I was coming in to file a previous tax year. I even asked more than once that they were SURE it would be ok because this is my last year to file if a refund is expected. They assured me it was fine and that I would be scheduled with the preparer who specializes in small businesses. I even received a text from them confirming the appointment. While on my way there, I called to let them know I was running a bit late, but they still said it was fine to come in for my scheduled appointment. Once there, however, the preparer with whom I was supposed to meet came to the desk but made a remark like he didn't want to meet with me when he saw the paperwork I had in my hands. He went back to his desk in the back, and then before I knew it, a couple that walked in well after me was led to the back by the receptionist to meet with him. When I asked her "what about my appointment," she then claimed it wasn't clear I had an appointment for 3pm with him in the system. Wait, WHAT??? By this time, I had been been waiting 45 minutes when she sends another disheveled preparer up front to meet with me, and he audibly huffs when he sees me with my paper work. Instead of providing the service he is hired to do, he spends the next 20 minutes telling me why he CAN'T do my taxes today, then prints out hard copies of all the forms I would have to file with the IRS and tells me to do them myself. No, Sherlock-- that is why I had scheduled an APPOINTMENT with your lame-ass TAX SERVICE! They could at least have had the courtesy to tell me LAST WEEK when I scheduled that they couldn't do a prior year for me so that at least I could have had the weekend to make alternate plans to get them done! This company, as represented by the DIMWITS at this location, has shown itself to be INCOMPETENT and INCONSIDERATE when it comes to respecting their (potential) customers' time, taxes, and circumstances. I lost precious time today that could have been better spent with someone who actually KNOWS how to do my taxes and has enough pride and professionalism to get them DONE when they say they will. Thanks to these BLOCKheads, I won't be able to file by today's deadline. Think I'll be giving my attorney a call in the morning for the time, money, and aggravation they caused me without a shred of remorse or even a basic apology.
