It was my first time going to this place, filet megnon was amazing, can’t get any better, hamburgers were great, i would rather my kids eat these hamburgers than any other junk . I liked it very much . Guys at the store were perfect, simple , straight, professional, just the way it is supposed to be .
I just had to update my review after I got lamb yesterday. Meat is crazy good, as good as get gets , you don’t find it in many places , this is the first one on the island I found . It is just made my day cooking it. All I can say thank you very much for keeping a tradition of the meat it is supposed to be.

THE BEST. The guys are all great and super friendly and can answer any questions you may have. The Filet is fire and melts in your mouth. Bone Broth is amazing as well. Highly highly recommend if you care about what you are eating then you go here for the best meats.

We spent all afternoon looking for pork belly and couldn't find a single place that had it. That is until we called hook and rail. We found out they do whole animal butchering and had what we needed. They were super kind and helpful explaining every detail about the meat to us and what cut would be good for us. Hook and rail saved abuela's birthday dinner and we will be sure to be back for barbecue season. You've earned a customer for life.

Without question the best butcher on Staten Island. You definitely can taste the difference of pasture fed, organic meat. You can get any of your purchases prepared according to your needs. The staff always works to make sure their customers are satisfied and happy. For anyone who remembers “the local butcher shop”, this is your place. They also provide something you can’t buy and is so hard to find these days. Integrity in their business practices.

Very Concerning Business Practices. Meat that was brown upon pickup. Chopped Beef that smelled like Bacon and was fatty like bacon, one occasion where chopped Lamb was actually Beef. Who doesn’t know the difference in the smell and look? No similarity, it was beef. Shorted a pound of Meat (value 10.99) and accused of making it up when I spent over 100.00 a week. These are examples of my experience. 10-15 pounds of meat packed in one thin plastic bag that most of the time would break. Not double bagged or even split into multiple bags unless I asked for it and when I did it was like I was asking for something that cost more than 25 cents. The owner always defensive, never taking responsibility or assuming accountability for valid feedback. I never once asked to be refunded and I should have. Odd, Arrogant and Guilty behavior. Great news is this experience forced me to find alternatives. And I did, several actually! FRESH Red Beef, Smells like Fresh Meat, not bacon, packed in cloth bags or boxes. Lamb is Lamb. So many special cut options too! Wish I made the change sooner.

Went there not knowing what to expect, I got some burgers, sausage burgers and some chop meat.... Everything was delicious, extremely good quality meats.... But very expensive.... For my family it would be a once in a while treat...

Decided to go here last min on a Sunday afternoon saw it closes at 6. Grabbed one 1 inch bone in rib eye to try and let me say incredible. Literally the tiniest bone and all meat and just the perfect amount of fat for a buttery smoothness. The butcher was extremely helpful and treated me in a way I definitely will be back for more .
