I've been so fortunate to taste many delicacies from Chef Viverito over the last few months at various events I've attended. His food is always fresh, delicious, innovative and always beautifully presented. I'm looking forward to visiting the Woodpecker General Store in person one of these days. From the photos I've seen, it looks very charming and welcoming.

Sandwich 1) reuben...to die for. Hearty and delicious.
Sandwich 2) pesto chicken...ridiculously amazing. Flavorful and it's own meal.
Eric and Erica are so personable and excited to be in this position snuggled in Staatsburg. And I, for one, am so glad that they are here! Not only is the food wonderful, they have a great collection of extras to browse and purchase from. I plan on making this a frequent stop. Helps that they are located right down the street, but if you are traveling Rte 9, they are SO worth the stop in. You can really feel the love, care, and expertise put into everything.

Having sent and received gift boxes from the Woodpecker General Store, it's a favorite all around! In particular, don't sleep on the thai sticks or drageed hazelnuts.

This place opened for business recently. I stopped in and ordered one of their gourmet sandwiches, it was absolutely delicious. I look forward to my next visit to try another of their gourmet sandwiches.
