Here's the thing. My father buys the best steaks you can buy in NYC. Our porterhouse from Wayside this summer was the most exceptional and memorable steak he or any of the rest of us have had in years. Yes it was pricey, but there simply is nothing to say besides that the best doesn't come cheap. I can't speak to the rest if Wayside's offerings, but when it comes to beef, there is no equal. Treat yourself!

Owner is hilariously rude- I found it comical because I was warned and I wanted to see for myself, and the guy didn’t disappoint.
He’s like the first born son if the Grinch and Oscar the grouch had a baby and let it sleep on the porch for 18 years.

Insanely overpriced. They purposely don’t list the prices on the menu or else no one would order. $40 for two very basic turkey sandwiches. I am a year round local and will never be back.

Super rude service. And not even rude in a funny way, just rude and grumpy. I’d be fine with it if the sandwich was great (it wasn’t) or if the prices were right (they aren’t). I’d skip this place.

Went in last Sunday This place reminds me of old school Deli with amazing Butcher shop. Friendly service and great sandwiches also never seen a Deli with a professional chef in kitchen that a saw came to give me our orders.

Extremely rude on the phone. I waited on hold for 5 minutes and then when I finally got to speak to someone, he wouldn't even answer my question, just kept talking over me telling me to come in and see for myself. And then hung up on me. I won't be shopping there. That's not how you handle customers.

My daughter and i went into Wayside with high expectations although i did read prior reviews warning about the rude nature of the owner. Right from the start we saw the owner as we walked in, we said hi as he was staring at us and he ignored us. We walked up to the deli counter, as this was our first time just looking around, and he rudely shouted “” Did you place an order” We said no and again he rudely said “then go over there under the sign and place it.” His rudeness and lack of common courtesy lead my daughter and I to walk right out without ordering a thing. We will never go back And will tell all our friends and family to pass by this wayside market as well. I don’t know how people continue to be rude and mannered.

I've been a customer of Wayside for decades. I went last week, and the prices were utterly insane- $40 for two sandwiches and an iced coffee. Unaffordable to return.

If Overpaying and rude service is what you’re looking for and this is the place for you I don’t mind paying but when you’re gouging the customers as they are and getting away with it, I guess good for them. I’ve been out on the Northfork for 40 years and they’re just taking advantage of the influx of people they are raising all of their prices astronomically it wouldn’t be so bad if the old man behind the counter was just a little bit more pleasant makes y feel like he’s doing you a favor Do yourself a favor stop at your local butchery on your way out and keep the extra $50 in your pocket
