Best quilt store! Owner is fabulous: helpful, generous with suggestions, and patient with beginner quilter( me). Last summer ( 2022) she taught me, a complete beginner without a sewing machine,to quilt. It has become my passion. Her fabrics are gorgeous! Yards, half yards, fat quarters, jelly rolls and patterns- she has it all. You can order online but if you are out in Greenport don't deny yourself time to browse at Second Spring Quilt Shop.

I do a lot of sewing and other kinds of needlework and fiber art, but have minimal quilting experience. I would love to learn more and have wanted to take a beginner series at Second Spring for a while, but am perplexed by the class schedule. Everything seems to be on weekdays at 10:30 AM or 1:30 PM, with no Saturday or evening (even 4:30 or 5 PM would be nice!) options for people who have work (or school) on weekdays. As someone who has taught craft classes myself, I find this a bit frustrating. It's so important that incredibly special handicrafts like quilting be preserved and passed down to the next generation of makers, yet this schedule seems designed to accommodate only retirees.That aside, Second Spring is a charming quilt shop that manages to pack a ton of fabrics, notions, tools, and patterns into a very bright and cheerful little space. The front window display is always a joy to look at, with colorful seasonal quilts and other projects. I continue to hold out hope that I will be able to make it to a class eventually.

Had a ball here! I'm a local Long Islander, just passing through on a quick lunch on the water with my husband....well, what beautiful fabric and Yvette was a sweetheart!! I ended up buying a few yards of fabric, which I love!!Yvette was never pushy, made suggestions and chatted about "creating"', Can't wait to get back there! Thanks Yvette!! I enjoyed our time together!!Roni

I stopped in earlier this week (Tuesday) during my visit to the North Fork. If you're like me and enjoy handmade items, check out this store! (No quilts made in China here. LOL) I met the very friendly owner Yvette who explained to me that she knows most of the quilters that make the quilts for sale in her store. Quality quilt products at reasonable prices.Great store in downtown Greenport.

Amazing quilt shop in the downtown shopping district of Greenport, NY. Beautifully organised, with fabrics and any notion you might need. They also sell personalized pillow cases which are really cute. The employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. They also have a great sewing studio for all of the classes they offer. If you can not see the shop in person they also offer online shopping, and curb-side pickup. They also have a sharpening service available for your scissors or even kitchen knives. Let's support this new small business!
