HIGHLIGHTS:
Excellent organization by Brandon, our planner/the event director
Attention to detail
Guests taken care of – people with dietary restrictions, elderly grandparents onsite
Seamless rain backup plan
Amazing food
Unique experiences (animals, swimming, smores and bonfires, unique and beautiful spaces throughout the venue, and lots of quality time with our guests)
EXCEPTIONAL ORGANIZATION. From contract signing, we were introduced to Brandon (your onsite planner, event director, and assistant GM for the venue) who organized EVERY DETAIL of our wedding in the 10 months leading up to the weekend. He made planning 3 days worth of events as easy as they could be – stage-gating when decisions needed to be made and then taking the reins in the 30 days leading up to our June 29 wedding (effectively passing off all our vendor communication to him.) And the weekend of our wedding, he knew all our guests, their dietary restrictions (and what food to serve them), and coached us on key moments of the wedding day. For example, right as we entered the reception for our Grand Entrance and first dance, which we choreographed, Brandon told us to focus only on each other, not to get distracted by our guests and cameras, etc. He had amazing little ‘pep talks’ for all the Big Moments and was such an important part of our weekend – we’re so grateful for him and his team.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL. The groom’s father has Celiac and needs gluten free meals prepared without contamination – the venue went above and beyond to ensure he, and other guests with dietary restrictions, had everything they needed. Our guests told us they felt very taken care of all weekend.
And the event spaces were beautifully set up and organized for everything – umbrellas in every tent, golf carts to shuttle folks around. We consistently heard from our friends and family that the venue had somehow anticipated the things they needed before they could even ask for it.
GUESTS TAKEN CARE OF. We had elderly grandparents onsite with us. We worried their mobility issues would impact their enjoyment of the weekend, but everywhere we looked, there they were whizzing by in a golf cart. They had a great time.
And not just them, but all our guests were shuttled around in the rain. If anyone forgot anything, staff would run and get it for them. I left my engagement ring in a bedroom and Katie went and brought it to me during the Friday Welcome Party so I didn’t have to step away from the event.
SEAMLESS RAIN BACKUP PLAN. No one wants rain on their wedding day. We had planned for the outdoor woods ceremony but it poured all night and all day so we called it off. As disappointed as we were, the photos and video we have back from the Milking Parlor are unbelievably beautiful. The venue made sure all our vendors were re-oriented to the new plan and other than needing to find more indoor place to take formal portraits, everything happened behind the scenes and it all went great.
AMAZING FOOD. We live in NYC and eat great food all the time. Gilbertsville’s food is EXCEPTIONAL. Friday lunch sandwiches and salad were legit amazing. Rehearsal Dinner with dumplings, fried rice, baos, chicken, etc. was casually served buffet-style and delicious. People loved the smores that evening at the bonfire welcome party.
Wedding day food was out of this world (and we loved eating leftovers on our upstate minimoon in the days that followed) – y’all gotta get the sage butternut squash ravioli and Moroccan beef tagine. WOW.
Our guests raved about the food to us all weekend (and since.)
UNIQUE EXPERIENCES. Ultimately, we wanted to give our guests a mini vacation and a unique experience. This was a solid 3-day party – everyone genuinely got to know one another, spend quality time together and with us, and created meaningful, joyful memories beyond just the wedding reception. We LOVED our time at Gilberts

I officiated my cousin's wedding at Gilbertsville Farmhouse at the end of June, with Brandon's help. He made the process seamless and made me much less nervous (it was my first time!). He, and all the staff, are super kind and knowledgeable about the grounds and truly work to make everyone feel catered to.
The wedding was beautiful, all the amenities were open to us, and everyone had a phenomenal time. Especially the bride and groom, who loved their cabin. The many fire pits and farm animals added to the experience. Goat yoga was a riot. The bathrooms and cabins are great. Lots of coffee machines and snacks around, too, which is a bonus.
It downpoured on the wedding day, but Brandon and his team had a perfect plan B in the downstairs area of the farmhouse. There's nothing like the great outdoors, but the velvet couches and lights and rustic atmosphere of the downstairs was almost a better experience, just given how beautiful it is there. Couldn't have had a better time.

The Baby Goat & Me weekend retreat was such a wonderful, magical experience for my two girls (ages 11 and 9) and me. From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a special weekend. We stayed in a glamping tent with ensuite bathroom, which was so well-appointed and AWESOME, my kiddos thought it was the coolest. It was so comfortable, luxurious, and clean - with such thoughtful details and fun design elements throughout our tent.
Everyone at Gilbertsville (Katie, Vanessa, Brandon - and everyone!) made us feel welcome and treated us like friends & family. Vanessa even left some fun goat books in the tent for my girls to read - she and the incredible team there went above and beyond to give us the best possible experience while there; we really did not want to leave. All meals were so delicious and offered in the most beautiful settings. There were plenty of food options for everyone, those with allergies and/or food sensitivities. We had tons of fun on game night and there was a Goatflix & chill night - I mean who wouldn't love to snuggle a baby goat while watching a movie and cozying up by a fire?
Onto the baby goats....these kids were so absolutely adorable, snuggly and fun, all with their own amazing personalities. We built an instant bond with our little Latte (name of our baby goat - my girls named her!). Being able to bottle feed her, take her on her first hike (in a baby carrier - yessss!), and join Latte and the other baby goats in their first goat yoga class was an absolute DREAM! Walking through those barn doors and seeing these little baby goats wag their cute little tails in excitement, to see all of us, was just the best. We met some wonderful families and made lots of new friends while there.
If you are looking to disconnect from the everyday, and reconnect with nature, with yourself, with family and/or friends, while enjoying farm-to-table food, stunning views of the mountains on what feels like your own private oasis, with the company and cuddles of the sweetest, most affectionate and irresistible baby goats and farm animals - this is the place :-).

I just went to this venue for a wedding I was in and it was by far the best venue I’ve ever been to!! The glamping tents were amazing! From the decor to the comfort of the bed and they are all equipped with fans and heat! The staff was exceptional! From Gabe the bartender to Brandon the manager to John the golf cart driver! They all keep things moving seamlessly. The food was delicious and so fresh!! They also accommodated all allergies and food preferences. The scenery is second to none! Our pictures came out beautiful! The animals on site just added to the weekend and made everyone smile!! I would highly recommend this venue!! You will not be disappointed!! I would give it 100 stars if I could!!

We recently filmed an wedding at Gilbertsville Farmhouse, and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience!
From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating. The venue itself is stunning, with picturesque views and charming rustic decor. The facilities were spotless and well-maintained, ensuring both comfort and convenience for all their guests.
The team at Gilbertsville Farmhouse went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. They were attentive to our needs throughout the planning process and during the event itself, which made a huge difference in our overall satisfaction.
The food was exceptional! The chef clearly puts a lot of thought and care into every dish, using fresh, local ingredients that highlighted the flavors of the region.
Overall, our experience at Gilbertsville Farmhouse was nothing short of exceptional. We highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful and memorable event space in the Otsego area. Thank you again to the entire team at Otsego Media!

I've been a wedding DJ in NYC and the surrounding area for over a decade, and I've seen a lot of upstate wedding locations. Gilbertsville Farmhouse is a clear standout amongst many, and very much worth the trek from the city. Beyond the breathtaking grounds and lavish set-up, the easygoing but professional nature of the staff made my time there a joy. Have to give my highest recommendation to the animals though! Couldn't get enough of all the dogs, and chickens, and alpacas, and of course, the baby goats absolutely stole my heart. Hope I make it back soon!!

My sons wedding took place at the farm and is was an unbelievable event that was organized by the excellent staff and catering from day one.
For two days we enjoyed the activities like yoga etc and have to thank the kitchen staff for the excellent breakfast lunch and dinner during our stay everyone enjoyed it.
It was a Hindu Wedding and the staff had gone beyond what we expected and made sure everything was as planned.
The stay itself was a very pleasant experience with excellent accommodations and facilities for all.
I highly recommend this farm for all events.

Writing this review took us longer than expected because it officially marks the end of our wedding planning journey...
Gilbertsville Farmhouse was the first and only venue that my now husband and I visited. We knew from the moment we stepped foot on property and met Sharon that it was the right venue for us.
At Gilbertsville Farmhouse, you’ll feel like the only people who matter. This is something that many venues promise but few actually deliver on. Gilbertsville excels at making your guests feel like family. They truly go above and beyond to ensure that your special day is everything you’ve ever dreamed of.
Both my husband and I work in the wedding and food industry. It was a bit of a daunting task to try to find a venue that would meet our expectations. We wanted to be blown away and we absolutely were. Gilbertsville Farmhouse exceeded our expectations.
There are so many stars at this property but to us their Chef, (Chef Dakota) holds a special place in our hearts. He allowed us to work in collaboration with him to curate a menu that was uniquely us. All of our guests said it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and through our collaboration we now call him a friend.
Brandon, Katie, and the greater GF team, thank you. You are magic makers.
If you’re in the market for a wedding venue, look no further. We can’t recommend them enough!
