The Mexican Shack is the most amazing jewelry store I've ever been in. While the jewelry, gifts, souvenirs are wonderful, it's the people that started this business and kept it going all these years that make it an extraordinary experience.Steve and Mary (the owners) are incredible. They take the time to find what's right for you and they get to know you in the process. They put love and care into each customer's experience and I will miss them dearly.Marianne and Beverly are incredibly kind and their customer service is outstanding. I have also had the most pleasant experiences with them.Robert is the jeweler that made the many pieces of jewelry I wear and his work is out of this world. His talent is magical and I'm so lucky to own some of his pieces.Thank you all very much for providing such exquisite jewelry, gifts, top notch customer service and unforgettable experiences. Every. I have been going to the Mexican shack since I was a kid, my mom use to take me there every so often. Now that I am older and can actually appreciate the craftsmanship of this jewelery, you won't find any other place like it. It is a shame that they are retiring, but at the same time I would like to thank them for creating their art for 47 years.Although a lot of the store is a little out of my price range, every so often I will purchase smaller items. Just yesterday I did purchase these nice aquamarine studs, for 25% off. I would highly recommend trying to get in before they are gone for good! It will be hard to find another jeweler to come close to The Mexican Shack.

The owners of this fine establishment take great pride in their business as well as ensuring every customer receives personalized attention and service. I was able to find the perfect gift, which was high quality and a great value for the price charged. I cannot wait to recommend this gem of a jewelry store (no pun intended) to my friends and family. I’m so glad I discovered The Mexican Shack in nearby Somers, NY!

First I must say, I give the jeweler 5 stars. Just a great and very talented gentleman. The problem is with MA. Not the friendliest woman I ever met by far. Maybe first a little backstory; I have a necklace that has no price I could put on it. It's not an expensive piece but means the world to me. I got it back in the '90 when traveling abroad during my college years. Handmade silver piece with round beads and hand carved long unique barrel shaped pieces. This necklace has broken so many times because I wear it everyday. It's my good luck charm and my grandmother's ring hangs from it. This last time it broke I was in my laundry room. Luckily most of the beads fell in a laundry basket but some went all over The floor. I spent hours locating every single bead. I went back to my desk and meticulously stranded the beads back on the broken chain to make it easier for the jeweler to re-strand with not much effort. Let me preface this by saying that over the years I have lost beads and that was hard to deal with but I did. Often when I took the necklace to be fixed the jeweler would find beads around his workbench and make it more unique but always keeping it even and the pattern the same all the way around. I always get a long chain so it hangs nice on my neck. Ok so back to the story. After I go through everything to protect and keep my keepsake whole like putting tape on the broken ends and putting it safely in baggie I tell MA who knows me well I need a new chain for this necklace. I don't care about a minuscule dollar amount Just do it well and make it strong. Use the same type of chain or something better n stronger. I trust the jeweler. So I hand her the bag with the taped necklace in it. You know by looking at the way I stored it I cared about it. So she takes my precious and very sentimental necklace that I brought in to have repaired and proceeds to take it out of a baggie that I have carefully stored it in grabs it by the tape which I say "I taped it so the beads are in proper order for the jeweler" and she lets all the beads fall off the chain and land on the floor behind the counter (as she lifts one of the broken half's to the paper ruler tapped on a high counter top instead of keeping the very fragile, taped and bagged necklace on the table where I put it that was hip high). I say "Oh my god, let me get on the floor and gather my beads" with my hand on my chest. She exclaims " no you can't come behind the counter" but I'll find them don't worry. Very long story shorter. She has the nerve to call me and say. There are beads missing come in and see it before we close it up, we have no beads that can match up. I'm thinking to myself if someone came in with a pearl necklace or something like diamonds she would have been on the floor till she found every single one, but my necklace is not so valuable (price wise) so she could give a sh*t. F**k her she can't put a value on my priceless piece. So beware if you choose to use this place to have your valuables fixed make sure that you just have the jeweler look at it and find the right chain for it and be the only one to handle it because it's completely ridiculous that I didn't get every bead back off of that floor instead of it going up some vacuum of the cleaning person who cleans their carpet. And that's why it's taken me months to get the calm to go into the store and deal with this winner. My blood boils at the thought of going in there and not speaking my mind out loud in a full store. I am beyond words that she was so careless and callous as to not go and find my beads or let me go and watch me so I don't "steal" lol anything and let me pick up every single bead so I could be whole and my necklace could be whole and my memories could be whole. Mentally I'm still not prepared to go inside this place without having a freaking fit and giving this woman a piece of my mind to this day. End of story I still have not gone in there to see how much of

Don't be fooled by the name "Mexican Shack," this place is that and so much more! They are a full service jeweler. My daughter lost a very sentimental bracelet. I went to the Mexican Shack to see if they sold something similar that I get to replace it. Steve (the owner) and Maryanne both took their time and spent over an hour looking through books, nothing was a good match. They suggested making a replica of the bracelet. That they sure did! An exact match! From the connections, chain, loops and size. It is perfect! They put so much time & care into this process. It was very clear that making this bracelet was just as important to them as it was to me.. Hands down this place is the best full service jewelr around. I cannot say enough great things about the Mexican Shack! They not only have an extensive assortment of beautiful jewelry but they are amazing to work with. They have all gone above and beyond to find the perfect piece. We've purchased beautiful diamond earrings, and two custom rings made and I couldn't be happier.
