Great sushi. Good service. Simple place that , quality wise, the sushi can compete with Aji 53.

Sushi was fine but the service was terrible. I never felt more rushed by a server. And when she wasn't at the table, she was off in a corner staring at us waiting for us to finish. And it was not crowded, at all. No, thanks.

Was pretty good sushi, just a bit pricey. I liked the simple soba soup and white tuna / yellowtail sashimi was fresh. I also ordered shrimp. Would like to see how their chirashi measures up next time.

Went to Shiki's a few yrs ago as I bought a gift card for a friend and they never used it so we went together. Now, I bought this card as I never thought I would be going there with my friend as I am a huge fan of "Kotobuki" and "Aji 53". I went with an open mind the place was very casual & I felt kind of dim which didn't excite me in the least so that set the tone for the rest of the dinner. I ordered a few ala carte sushi items and a tempura dinner. I was not crazy for either, however, my friend enjoyed his meal and said he would go back again. I'm assuming since I'm Japanese I have a higher standard than most when eating at a Japanese restaurant. But compare with "Aji 53" & "Kotobuki " there not even in the same league. They need to change the atmosphere & brighten up the place and perhaps the chef should go check out their competition down the road.

My mom had a groupon which is why we ended up here. The sushi was GREAT. When you walk into this place it is not impressive very casual, but the food is awesome. Very good sushi. The service was great and the good was awesome. Don't expect a fancy a restaurant just good sushi.

Delicious addicting food. I had a groupon. Clean inside, I had a great parking space. Service was okay. They get the job done. I had a better lobster roll. However, the guy who made it was polite and was careful with my food.

Sushi I always hear a lot of good things about Shiki so eventually got in there to try it out. This is / was an old school sushi place - much, much smaller and more intimate than the sushi / hibachi palaces all over the place. Small tatami room in the rear. The servers are decent but not spectacular but they get the job done and do not hound you to order more drinks or appetizers, which was nice. Salad was standard fare. Choices of sushi specials was limited but I sort of like that as it shows some sort of focus on what they are doing. Sushi chef made a very nice little Amuse-bouche (not sure if they would call it that in Japanese though) which was very thoughtful. Sushi rolls were well made and the price was decent. Overall a solid sushi place bordering on how sushi used to be instead of the huge places they have become. Parking is a little hard to find behind the place- odd parking lot - just follow it to the end to find the rear entrance. Give it a shot.

The last few times I've ordered from here I feel the quality has gone down. Or maybe I just got bored with their menu. Everything has a spicy mayo sauce. Since Tomo and Aji 53 now deliver to my house I have been ordering from either one of those places and find the fish to be much fresher and the menus far more interesting and diverse. Depending on my mood I think I would say I actually like Tomo over Aji 53.

We paid a visit here because Takumi ran out of fish and Kotobuki, our Plan B, was packed. Their green salad is standard. The dressing tastes too much like orange juice. Also, they skim the top with spring mix to make it look more sophisticated. The remainder is iceberg. The salmon and avocado salad was a joke. 90% of it was iceberg lettuce; the 6 pieces of salmon sashimi were paper-thin. Our first two options for Japanese restaurants are more generous with the protein for the same price--MAYBE one dollar more. Their Yaki Soba was satisfying, although the soba noodles themselves were overcooked. The sautéed oysters? False advertisement, for they are deep-fried. Although tasty, my partner and I have sensitive stomachs with deep-fried fare. The service is alright. There's not much more to elaborate on with that. The place was empty and our waitress was still a little slow. Overall, there's potential but I can see why people may visit Aji 53 across the street. Just take the extra ten minutes to drive and support Takumi.

I wanted to love this place, I really did. The first time I loved it - couldn't wait to go back. The second time however, the food was tasteless and dry, almost embarassing for me since I had bragged about the joint to my friends and this second time, I got it with them.

The restaurant is small and casual. About 10 tables with a sushi bar. I've ate numerous dishes from here before and most of them were a hit. Although it's not Japanese owned but apparently they do get their fish from a Japanese company (overheard while eating). The fish is fresh but the portions seem very small to me. Get the Sauteed Oysters! It's so worth it even if your breathe might smell like garlic later. The ginger dressing is addicting as well. Oh and the best value for sushi is the Sushi and sashimi combo. You'll see what I mean when you look at the menu. However, the miso soup is very weak. Also the chicken teriyaki seems to lacking some salt. Also, the service is slow. They are nice but it would be so much better to hire one more person as a waiter, sushi chef, and kitchen chef. But what's nice is that they have discount coupons everywhere. Check their takeout menu, restaurant.com, or local newspapers for 15% or 20% off. Even for takeout and delivery. Not bad.

Just got home from there and it just didn't do it for me. Food was bland and they could have used another person on wait staff. They were very friendly and nice, food was presented nice but no flavor.

I love this place...it's one of my favorite Japanese restaurants ... But I have noticed lately they do not have enough wait staff during the week and i overheard the customers other complaining about that... I think they need to address this...4 stars for food 2 for service
