Great hike. Went during the week. It was quiet and peaceful. Dogs allowed on leash

I took my puppy here to the dog run (small side) there were 2 men there super welcoming because I was terrified to go in (first time at a dog park), my puppy warmed up when everyone left so she didn't get to play with dogs unfortunately but I do plan to come back. Well clean and my dog LOVES the water pump. We also took a hike after by the water!

I've hiked this park twice, once by myself and once with my dad. It's a 6 mile hike and somehow for my dad and I it turned into a 7 mile 4 hour hike. My dad and I are slow hikers and my dad is much slower than I am. It's a beautiful hike around a gorgeous lake and along the way you find a historical house that used to be an office for the Long Island Greenbelt trail but now it looks boarded up and not in use. Definitely worth the hike if you're physically up for it.

Not a good experience camping there. We had reservations for Thursday through Sunday. We left Friday afternoon. Seems as though there are a lot of drifters staying there. Picnic table at the campsite was absolutely gross and broken. There isn’t much to do right around the camping section. The bathrooms are old and run down. The showers looked scary. Very disappointing.

This is the best park on Long Island; Went today for the first time the trail is beautiful. By the water the whole time so it’s easy to navigate but you should def use a pdf map. The elevation changes and twists and turns make it super fun to traverse. Took me 3 hours to finish so plan accordingly (food water ect). You for sure need hiking boots there is a lot of roots you go over, some mud for sure, and the elevation changes are real, this is not a flat terrain.I will for sure be coming back here. It was great it felt like it’s own world because the area is so big it goes on forever.

Beautiful any season!! Trails aren't always 100% well-marked, but that might just be my bad sense of direction!! Peaceful, quiet, clean, and LOTS to see and do here!! Group camping, dog park, large lake with rowboats to rent, and more!!ENJOY!! And get there EARLY for a good parking spot!!

This is a great county park. Only reason I did not give it five stars is you have to still pay for a one day pass, even with a green key and an empire state pass. But it has camping grounds, a boating dock, and tons of trails to hike. Definitely better than other state parks like Belmont state park and a few others I have been to.

I only walked one mile (out and back) of the blue trail but it was really pretty on a May weekday afternoon. I definitely plan on returning and seeing more.Dog-friendliness: Couple of decent sized dog parks

Nice trails to walk. Decent views of the lake. There's campgrounds but require reservations during the in-season. Playground for kids is decent but slightly weathered out.

Nice 5ish mile loop around the lake, a little bit of everything keeps it interesting, just make sure you wear good hiking shoes, there is some terrain/roots/mucky areas which sneakers and anything less supportive might not be ideal for.

Beautiful sense of unspoiled nature, many paths to hike. Paths are sometimes very uneven and affected by weather, so hikers should wear good outdoor footwear and be steady on your feet. Carry out your refuse, no trashcan. Very dog-friendly. Recommend bringing a map or using the QR code digital resources throughout park; easy to get lost if you don't know the paths well.

Fantastic park. I was first here to do the run around the lake for military service member, Murphy who was killed in action. I have been here a few more times, So nice to hike in the woods, one very large path near a camping spot and smaller path around the lake. Definitely a must see. Tons of swans in January.
