We have used this Aboff store for years. We always get excellent and knowledgeable service. Staff are friendly and take time to assist. Store is spotless and well stocked for the occasional painter and the professionals. Great having them in Smithtown!

These guys are solid and super helpful. BM paint is far superior to Sherwin-Williams. I once threw away a full gallon of expensive SW paint after trying to brush it on a sanded smooth front door. That garbage didn't self-level and dried so fast that you couldn't brush it smooth without tearing it. I will never again buy paint from Lowes or Home Depot.

My Wife went to pick up basic ceiling paint, they took advantage of her and sold her the most expensive and overpriced paint they sell after she told them she didn't know about paint.

Great fast and friendly service. Guys behind the counter need a lesson in how to properly cover their mouths and noses with a mask but at least there was a counter to ceiling Plexi shield.

I went in here today to shop. I have serious repairs I need to do to my walls and ceilings and need some materials. I waited fifteen minutes, at least. No one acknowledged me... not even a hello. And these stores are not that large; they can't miss someone coming in. They are setup to see the customer as they walk through the door. I walked around the store several times. A group of people were holding an extremely long conversation at the front of the store for a long while. After my fifth or sixth lap around the store, I Googled the nearest Aboff's to this location and walked out. I was half expecting someone to stop me, but no. They didn't care. I went to a different store and vowed that if they did they same thing, Aboff's would never see a penny of my hard earned money. I went to the Centereach location and was treated like a human. That's where I'll do all of my shopping as I am remodeling my home.

Kevin is the most knowledgeable person about all things paint that I ever worked with. He is the go to guy… the other staff is also extremely helpful.

Went to this Aboff for a quart of navy blue paint. After the help matched the chip color, my wife and I were told that the color didn’t come out exactly accurate and was slightly off. I should have taken that as a heads up and demanded a new quart of paint at the exact color. Instead, being new to the area as we recently moved from Huntngton to St. James, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I used the paint on the cabinet and instead of navy blue it turned purple even with two coats. Waste of time and money. Now when I need to go to Aboffs it will be the one I used to go to in Huntington, which gives excellent service and gets the order right, even though it’s a much longer trip.
