Back in October of 1813 me and my friends in the US marines decided to go here for a nice holiday, then all of a sudden the headless horseman came and started throwing pumpkin bombs and beheading people. We killed him pretty fast and it was fun just be careful of undead that come up at night

Take your time and walk and drive the cemetery, full of beauty and history. Parking available on east side of Old Dutch Church; restrooms toward the nw, by the office (beware they are OLD, unstocked, and a bit steep and slippery down the old steps). Free map available outside the office, a must-have for your self-directed tour. Definitely worth the stop!

The beautiful Old Dutch Church of sleepyhollow from 1685 is an exquisite Historic Site. While travelling north on Broadway / route 9 , have your passengers look to the right and you will see the perfectly maintained nearly 340 years old stone Church.

Nothing really exciting about it. It's the idea of it that gets you there. The coolest thing is walking around the graveyard. The Headless Horseman bridge was a "Oh, that's it" moment.

My son read the Legend of Sleepy Hollow and wanted to see the cemetery and church. It’s beautiful and I recommend for any Washington Irving fan.

The actual church that is part of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. This is a private cemetary and church. The church is open for visitors as are the cemetery grounds. You can find Washington Irving's grave on site just follow the signs. Please be respectful of mourners and stay away from funerals that may be happening.
