Life-changing experience.I got to finally meet people like myself and see what kind of future I could have. Before I arrived I was questioning the path my faith was on, and once I was finally immersed in a community full of people like me, I have never been more certain of my future.Despite the doomsday-like weather I had the best time of my life and I will absolutely do anything I can to come back next year, because it was so nice to be unapologetically me, even if it was for three days. The bathrooms and showers are cleaned at least once, if not twice a day. I watched the porta-pottied get cleaned every day and the trash be collected at least once a day. They drive around to pick up your trash, all you have to do is point to it.My only complaint is that there seem to be only two options: a week-long pass and a weekend pass. We need something in between.Restrooms: Perfect and clean. Cleaner than most restaurantsDog-friendliness: No dogs allowed. Cats are thoughPicnic area: Whole place is a picnic area. Find a patch of grass and enjoy

This place is literally the center of my universe. I celebrate Christmas-in-July at Sirius Rising every year. You won't find better.Playground: Have you ever heard the sound of half-a-dozen children playing the didgeri-poo? I have, and it's majestic. The playground is staffed by very caring and patient volunteers during events. There is usually a wonderful breeze and excellent shade during the day.The equipment is a little old at the time of this writing but I have heard whispers amongst the Brushwood community of renovation in the near future.Restrooms: Well-maintained port-o-lets for events. Amazing "Four Flushers" near the big field. Public and private showers immaculately maintained both Around the Bend and at the Studio near the entrance. I have had several transcendent, life-altering bowel movements at Brushwood. And you will too.Picnic area: You could fall on your butt with a picnic basket anywhere on the property and feel completely relaxed and at home. However, there are several incredible pavilions to choose from, each with very different atmospheres. Some pavilions have stages (or are stages). Some feel very private while others are in high-traffic areas. The Sankofa Cafe is a permanent structure with a kitchen and pavilion with picnic tables. You can also visit the Roundhouse, the Didgidome (spelling?) any of the shrines (respectfully), and allow those spaces to inform your picnic's mood.During events there is no shortage of people-watching opportunities. The public spaces are always buzzing with busy artist, musicians, performers and storytellers (also chainsaws if you're near the roundhouse during Sirius Rising). The denizens of Brushwood are also amazing conversationalists, so don't be shy.Outside of event times, you'll easily lose yourself in Brushwood's serenity. And you should relax. You've earned it, kid.

Best place on earth. My home! This is more than just a camp ground. It’s a place to be yourself, discover yourself, and love every experience and interaction. The campground is clothing optional and a spiritual place so know that going into that land. It’s certainly unique and might not be for everyone. But if you find a home here you’ll never want to leave.

Small community of good people, camping may be considered “primitive” by some as there are no defined, numbered campsites with blacktop pads like you may find at a KOA type campground, but electric & water are available and the nature of the campground gives a lot of flexibility as to the type of camping you wish to do.
