We loved visiting this shop and getting to know the owner. She is so friendly and knowledgable and has an incredible range of items in her collection. My sister and I were so excited to find children's books we grew up with in the 90's, including I Spy, Where's Waldo, and The Stinky Cheese Man. We will definitely be making this shop a staple every time we come to Shelter Island, so we can browse her new finds!

I had a wonderful experience at Dworkin & Daughter this morning! The owner was nothing but polite and friendly! She and I had a wonderful conversation about her shop, her items, and the sentimental value she has for them. She told me about her travels and past as well. She sold me one of her very loved pieces from her own collection so I can gift it to my mother. She was so lovely and so excited it was going to a home where it would be appreciated. This is easily the best antique shop I have had the pleasure to visit so far. I have the outmost respect for the owner and her business and anyone is lucky to get to know her!

Some nice vintage jewelry here but the owner kind of lashed out at me when I very politely asked her a question about a ring of my own. I imagined she had a lot of expertise based on her merchandise, but was really taken aback by her response. Oh, well. Don't think I'll be back there.

What a wonderland this is! How "Echo" could leave such a negative rating is beyond me and clearly exhibits ignorance- or at worse jealousy!This antiques store is a throwback to a time prior to EBay- when antique shops were a treasury of discovery... and shop-owners were knowledgeable , fair and extremely patient- ( especially with my husband's silly questions and ruminations). Dworkin and Daughter is a reason to come to Shelter Island!!

A visit to this shop is a complete waste of time. And here's why. Nothing is priced to sell. Nothing. Everything in the place is way, way overpriced for the simple reason that the Daughter sees the full contents of the store as her inheritance. So she's too sentimental about everything to ever sell it. She cannot part with any of it. She's really more of a museum caretaker than a merchant. And if she fears that you may actually be serious about buying something - as overpriced as it is - she becomes frighteningly rude. It's a very strange experience walking around the Daughter's belongings. The rules are: Don't buy !!! And don't dare touch anything !!! You've been warned !!
