Delicious breakfasts and lunch all year long. The best bacon egg and cheese/sausage egg and cheese I have ever had - on the island or elsewhere. Hot, delicious coffee, baked treats from Maizie the pasty chef at the Chequit Hotel, blueberry pancakes, fresh bagels, homemade hashbrowns, vegetable omelettes, gigantic iced coffees and Hershey's ice cream milkshakes, tuna on toasted rye, creamy egg salad, chicken salad, homemade soups. The friendly counter is the Shelter Island place to meet a friend or neighbor. Very busy in the summertime - the counter can four feet deep and a line out to the street. Shelter Islanders like to move over to accommodate new patrons at the counter as a courtesy - it's called the "Shelter Island shuffle". Children have fun spinning on the counter stools. Outdoor seating under big canvas umbrellas for shade, next to beautiful overflowing summer flower boxes. This is a very local spot that welcomes everyone - no more delicious place to have breakfast or lunch. Call ahead for fast takeout. Listen to Gregg, the manager, list the daily specials live on WLNG radio right in front of you at the counter - fun, real and authentic Shelter Island - for over one hundred years. Egg creams? Yes - it's that kind of old skool place, delicious food with memorable meals everyone enjoys. Don't miss the Pharmacy - it's an island institution.

A charming slice of the past in this old-time pharmacy/drug store. One of the most organized and well-supplied stores I've been in, you can find virtually anything you might need for yourself, for the beach, toys/novelties for the kids and Shelter Island keepsakes. The griddle/fountain adjoining the pharmacy is open mornings and weekends for breakfast foods if you're lucky enough to get a seat. Take-away is great and best if you phone-in ahead of time.

Delicious breakfast and friendly counter service. We had egg, bacon, cheese on an english muffin (best egg sandwich I’ve had), Grilled corn muffin. We will return again!

Drove here from Islip to get another shirt!For some reason, this place has become a travel destination if we're ever out and about nearby.The literal sole reason we took the ferry over to shelter island was to come here! Keep on being an awesome store!

This is one of the best, most unique experiences on Shelter Island. Shhhhh- Dont tell anyone. Get there before 2pm when they start to close the kitchen.

Best bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich I've ever had and it came from a pharmacy!!! Delicious!!! As a Rhode Islander, that was so internet to me. I went the day before the 4th of July and it was a bit crowded near the counter. The sandwich took maybe 30 minutes.

Pharmacy is your average pharmacy, but the flat grill inside had the best Egg sandwiches I've had in a while. Great hash browns too!!

The shelter island pharmacy lunch counter has been In existence for decades and I have enjoyed every single time I have been in the pharmacy (Every week) my personal favorite sandwich is the Bacon Egg and cheese. It is delicious. Greg (the lunch counter manager is always fun to talk to. Overall great little Island treasure
