The staff is always pleasant. Appointments are always given in a timely fashion from the initial phone call. The veterinarians who have seen our dog have always made a correct diagnosis on the initial visit and were able to treat our dog accordingly. Would definitely recommend this office. Thank you

Ive been taking My Toni who has extremely high anxiety to Dr. Astrin and he absolutely loves her. With him being a pit bull and anxiety Dr. Astrin has made a best friend out of my little guy. Not even a muzzle had to be used. I will never ever take him anywhere else. Staff is helpful and friendly.

Everyone in the office was so kind, and Dr. Cooper was very thorough. He took the time to explain everything, and even went over cost options prior to any treatment. I am very happy with my decision to take my pup to Setauket Animal Hospital.

I'm new to the area and was looking for a vet as my dog was showing signs of sickness. I randomly chose Setauket Animal Hospital and was so glad they could accommodate us on the day we called. First impressions was that the office waiting room was so clean, and the staff was so helpful. We were seen by Dr Gerbino and she was fantastic. Great including the patron with her insight to the problem, and so sweet to my dog. I'm sold. No need to look any further. Couldn't be happier to have this wonderful resource close to where we now live. Strongly recommend this facility.

Vets here are all very good. But good luck having any successful follow through of your pet's plan if Sydney is involved. She will override any plans you discussed with the doctor and tell you that she makes the policies of the hospital. I am not the only person who's had this issue. Check the NextDoor app if you want more info on this hospital and what's happened to it over the last few years. Sad to think that one employee could be the downfall of a place, but it appears that's happening. Try Three Village Veterinary or Animal Health and Wellness down the road.

I will never go to this vet again. The manager Sydney is one of the worst people I have ever spoken to. If you love your animal avoid this vet.

From the moment you walk in to reception to the moment you meet with all the doctors and staff you know you and your pet are valued and cared for with love and skill. It’s the best place to go if you live your pet and want incredible care. I highly recommend setauket animal hospital .

My dog has been acting oddly for a few days and I began to worry. Setauket Animal Hospital was able take my 6 year old German shepherd as a new client as well as bring him in for an exam the same day.Dr. Clark was able to identify the issue and prescribed the proper prescriptions (exact scripts a personal vet friend told me over the phone) and within hours of my appointment after administering his medicines he is already showing signs of comfort and relief from his ailment. My appointment was quick, affordable and straight to the point.

I strongly disagree with some of these negative comments !! I had way a different experience with Sydney. When my border collie Bella wasn’t doing well and I had trouble getting records from my doctor, she got them SO fast!! AND she spoke to the specialist, Dr. Morganstern who then contacted my vet, Dr. Cooper for her heart meds. She made it so easy for me!!! When it was time for my Bella to cross over the rainbow bridge , Sydney and Dr. Cooper were there till the end and made me feel comfortable about my decision. If I ever add another fur baby to my family , I will absolutely be returning to Setauket Animal Hospital to see Sydney and Dr. Cooper!!!

I have been coming to this vet for some time now and recently I came to see one of the doctors for my baby’s annual exam. I have just stumbled over the review someone wrote about Sydney the practice manager, and I am appalled by this inaccurate information. When my pet was not doing well, Sydney coached me through over the phone until my actual appointment time, and helped Dr. Gerbino get coordinated with bloodwork drop offs and an ultrasound. It is impossible to appease everyone, and when they are dealing with a short staff they cannot get everyone possibly in the office. They are so accommodating to my work schedule, and always are flexible with my pets needs. 10/10 highly recommend !

Our family loves Setauket Animal Hospital and Dr. Brown! I have been to MANY other vets in the area from Smithtown to Centereach, Stony Brook Port Jeff and Selden and they are by far the best. You are welcomed by happy receptionists and knowledgeable and patient vet techs - they are honest and not looking to make money off of us. Dr. Brown really knows what he's talking about and even annual visits are super thorough. I will never go anywhere else.

We came on emergency basis never there before they were so kind , so professional, they explained everything Including my options in a way that was kind and understanding. The office staff was friendly and helpful and answered all my questions. Since I had no insurance they priced out everything for me.The office itself was so clean and beautiful with welcome coffee.I went there so upset and left with a new Vet and knowing my dog was in the best care.Thank you!!!

Response to Owner:I didn't know just grabbing a dying animal with out care is professional. The handling of my cat in her dying days is what I'm upset about. There was none. She was weak and dying, she had moved earlier and sat up to eat before we had brought her. We told him that too. The man just scruffed her by the back of the neck and held her. It's also quite amazing to diagnose things with out running tests. If you also understand its a hard time for people, giving short responses and acting like you're in a rush, isn't helping at all. It made us feel like we're just bothering you in your day. The course of the exam was less than 5 minutes too. There was only one option given and that was to put her down. No other options. So what other options were there that had been refused? We sat waiting for the doctor longer than he was even in there. I'm also not giving a "scathing account", I'm giving my experience on how there was little care or empathy there was from him. Do I have to ask some one who has been in veterinary school to hold an animal properly? As I had said though, the guy at the front desk on the other hand, was absolutely phenomenal. He was kind, spoke warmly to us and had a general air of caring when he brought us in to the exam room.Original review:I will never bring another animal here. The people who worked the desk in the front were absolutely amazing. But, the vet Dr.Cooper was just awful. Even the act of calling him a vet or doctor feels like an insult to actual vets.He came in, barely said hello and handled our cat with little care. We had come there to maybe have her put to sleep since she wasn’t going to last long and they were the only local place able to fit us jn. But just the way he handled her and had no compassion made us think twice. He was just saying random stuff like her kidneys were failing or she was comatose. Well no tests or anything we’re ever done for her kidneys and she wasn’t comatose, just very weak. She was very much still aware, especially when she got fed, which she was given food a couple hours before we had went. She wasn’t in pain and passed later that night. I’m glad we took her home, if I had let that man give her that shot, i would of felt so guilt and it would of been a decision that would of haunted me forever. Instead, she went peacefully in her home with her family.
