Skidmore Trucking must be the best kept secret in moving around these parts. Like another reviewer said, we couldn't have asked for more from a mover. Ed and his crew were professional and polite and worked tirelessly to get the job done in time. Moved us from a 4,000 sq ft space to a 1,500 sq ft space, with heavy furniture, through tight spaces, in just two days, with impeccable care....for less than HALF of what other movers quoted us. Cant recommend them more highly.

Their crew helped my family move precious antiques from my grandparents house after they passed away. The crew were kind, respectful, and very proffessional. They wrapped everything and carefully loaded our moving truck. Highly recommend.

Just used Ed and his very capable, personable, and skilled crew to move from Lynbrook to Deer Park. I had no idea which moving company to use, and there are a load of horror stories out there, and I REALLY didn't have the time or inclination to call dozens of companies. I asked my sister if she had anyone she'd recommend, and she suggested I call Ed Skidmore. Hands down, they were THE best part of my entire recent moving process. They showed up on time, kept asking me 'is there anything else here that you need to bring', were very aware of my three terrified cats hiding under the bed and were extremely careful not to inadvertently let anyone escape. Considering the amount of stuff I had to move, and the extremely cramped layout of my now former apartment, they were totally efficient in getting everything out of there as quickly as possible. They pulled off what I thought was an impossible feat and managed to lower my 6 foot tall glass showcase (which wouldn't have fit down my very weirdly laid out 2nd floor staircase) out the sliding glass door and over the deck railing to the lawn below without any damage (and more importantly, anyone getting injured). All of my stuff made it to the new apartment unbroken. They were very careful to make sure everything was in the right place (or as right as I could decide upon at the moment). Price was right in line with what he quoted, and with what I'd guesstimated, so no unpleasant surprises there either. Look, I hope to never have to move again. But if I did, I'd DEFINITELY use Ed Skidmore and his crew. They made a traumatic day a bit less traumatic. Thanks folks!

I am very happy with the service I received from this company. I feel the owner went above and beyond to provide excellent service while keeping my budget in mind. His employees were fast and efficient and nothing was damaged. I recommend Skidmore Trucking and would definitely use them again.
