The expected stay at Sunnyview is 2 weeks 2.5 weeks max. They routinely accept patients who cannot safely be sent home in 2 weeks. When your 2 weeks is up, the solution is to just ship you off to another facility where you can get the long-term, intensive care you needed to begin with. Read the stats from their own brochure's - 85% of patients are discharged to another facility. Meaning 85% of their patients never should have been sent there to begin with. What is Sunnyview's real motivation? Your well-being or their bottom line? This place is just coasting on it's reputation. As another reviewer mentioned, PT and OT are always late. God forbid you are admitted on a holiday, 3 or 4 days will be wasted rotating through staff who will each instruct you do do things a different way. As yet another reviewer mentioned, their notes will completely distort events and take things out of context making you look like a fool. Fun-fact, have a relative bring you a laptop, use the patient portal, you can read their notes about you in real-time. Caution: it will make you make mad. In one exercise, I was instructed to retrieve plastic-fruit from various places in a mock-kitchen. This was documentated in my notes as, "Can prepare basic meals." There Covid safety protocols were a joke. I caught Covid there (I had to demand a test before I left so they couldn't blame it on someone else.) Sunnyview didn't think it was important to advise the Orthopedist's office I had an outpatient visit with the day before I became symptomatic. They also didn't advise the Medical Transport company who took me home. This place care about 2 things - money and their reputation.

Horrible place. I was a patient here back in 2012 for about 2 weeks, still having flashbacks from the manhandled and bullying by PT and Ot. It was much worse as an outpatient, very abusive Occupational therapist. I would have rather received treatment from the ghosts of Waverly Sanatorium.

I went to the office in Latham Farms. For a small office in a convenient location, they have a lot going for it including the staff. They made use of every inch of space while keeping everyone socially distanced. Everything was sanitized before and after use. My p/t, who is also the office manager, has a ton of energy at 6:30 a.m. (!) She pushed and encouraged me to work, and changed things up throughout the sessions. She distracted me and kept me laughing during the more challenging parts of the sessions. I definitely rounded the corner and feel so much better since beginning treatment. They take measurements at the beginning of treatment, a couple of times during treatment, and at the end, and let you know of the gains you've made. Also, all of the physical therapists have a great rapport and are part of a cohesive team. If one was out, it was almost a seamless transition to another. Oh, and nothing like having them hum "Pomp and Circumstance" when you've been discharged! :D
