Two weeks ago I tried to use the ATM. A receipt came out but no money. Thinking I hit a wrong button I tried again. Same thing except I read the receipt and it said "Account Unknown" Fearing I had been hacked or cleaned out, I immediately went into the bank, thankfully they were open, to learn that my ATM card was Cancelled!!! No notice, nothing, just cancelled. Apparently it was an older card that they said were all cancelled FOUR YEARS AGO. Well, mine wasn't and I have been using it all along until this day. Somebody should have notified me FIRST!!!! Now today I had rolled over a CD at 4.4% but when I checked the first month's interest on line they only paid me 86 CENTS interest for the month! I went to the bank at 9AM to inquire about it and I'm still waiting for a call back at 3PM as to what happened. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!UPDATE 8/8/23: The lady who took the info at my branch NEVER called back even after I called them at 3:30PM. The customer service number I was told to call was a joke. The lady that answered told me they couldn't help when I explained the situation. I balked and she said wait a minute, then said she could connect me to someone who could help. The telephone transfer failed and I had to call back. Got a different lady and explained AGAIN and she said "hold on" and transfered me to someone in FLORIDA! Fortunately she was the first person who seemed to know what was going on and basically said I need to go back to the branch that issued the CD because they are the ones who need to fix it. So back I went and after half an hour, I THINK it's straightened out but we'll have to see. It seems the local branch dropped the ball in not sending in the rollover paperwork to the operations branch. I renewed another CD on 7/24 and guess what, they never followed through on that one either so the CD's rollover at ,05% interest. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!UPDATE 8/10/23: TWO MORE DAYS, another visit, two more emails and it's still screwed up. I would highly UNRECOMMEND this bank.UPDATE 8/10 3PM FINALLY it has been fixed AND Willie Reed, the gentleman I last spoke with at the local branch on Tuesday actually CALLED ME BACK to let me know it was updated to reflect the correct amount of interest. I woulld like to commend Willie for being a GREAT employee and I hope that Trustco recognizes that. THANK YOU Willie!!!!

Do not ever go to this bank. They will make everything you do involving money difficult and they have fees for almost everything. In the last week they've cancelled 3 of my cards from misunderstandings on their end. They have either refused to work with me or just don't even know what the problem is, this has resulted in me losing massive time and money. (and that doesn't even go to all the issues with them never reimbursing for anything, even if your account has fraudulent transactions or the issue is their fault) This bank is very unorganized, unprofessional, and does not care about you.

Accidentally transferred money out of my account, causing it to be overdrawn. The mobile app does not support mobile check deposit and I no longer live in NY. Called trustco in Guilderland to ask if they could refund the $61 in fees they charged. They refused. This account has been open for over 20 years and never was overdrawn, yet they refused to work with me. They are NOT a hometown bank. I am closing my account and suggesting others use more technologically advanced banks that allow mobile deposit. Their customer service is a disgrace.

My mother has had both a personal checking and savings account with Trustco Bank for over 40 years. She also had a business checking account for 10 years. During all that time, her account not was overdrawn even once. This month, due to an accidental wire transfer her account was overdrawn by $43. Trustco charged $61 in fees. I called the Carman Road branch to try to negotiate those fees, but the woman I spoke with refused. After 40 years of being a loyal customer, she wouldn't wave just one of the exorbitant charges. I'm disgusted by the customer service at this branch. I will be closing her account and advising all family members to close their accounts as well. I have had checking accounts with multiple banks and never have I encountered one so inflexible.

Very unprofessional! I left my job at the bank due to feeling so uncomfortable because people let their at home issues get in the way of their work and mistreat their employees. I feel bad for anybody still currently working at this branch. Someone needs to tell them about theirselves . #3900 CARMAN RD

I walked in there yesterday and I started to feel this warmth. A warmth like no other, not a friendly warmth because they're all so nice in there. But it was the kind of warmth as if it was motherfuckin' Botswana Africa up in that b***** Like damn I know there is some cold hearted bitches out there that walk in but s*** I about had heat stroke. It's never been like that and I go in regularly.

Stupid place to put an ATM and it is almost impossible to use without getting out of the car. So it used to be you could fill out a deposit slip either inside the bank or in the vestibule then deposit it in the ATM. Now you have to walk inside the bank to get an ATM envelope from a teller and then fill out deposit slip inside the bank and then walk out to the ATM and risk being hit a car for drive through traffic. Can't wait for the first lawsuit from a pedestrian hit. (Yes I realize you can get an ATM envelope from the machine itself, but then you still need a deposit slip and then you will be sitting there holding others up. And yes realize could just use the bank teller....I try not to do that as I would rather trust the machine and also actually see my balance). Put one back inside the bank before someone owns Trustco after getting hit by a car ! Don't say you weren't warned.

I switched to this bank-randomly. Actually I went in for a roll of quarters and ended up with a checking account. I left my previous bank because they were charging me $9.99/month on my checking for not having over $1500 in it- had to do something! The whole process was quick and simple and the staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks, from a college student. The only thing that is 'Odd' are the Tuesday hours but everything else is good.

Trustco took care of my 5 month CD for more than 17 years, and when it was time for me to close it out and have it sent to me here in California, they fielded my (several) calls professionally and also talked me through getting my letter notarized. If there were a Trustco out here, I would gladly continue banking with them. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism!
