This is the type of business that this country needs. Mike specializes in an old craft and he does it better than anyone else. Great customer service, great craftsmanship. 100% use this store if you need shoe repair. He brought a pair of boots that were very special to me back to life.

Took one whole month before I got my shoes back. I also think $30 to put heels on two pairs of shoes was a bit pricey, and that's with a discount for my inconvenience. Left several phone messages as to when my shoes will be ready, received no return calls. Until finally one day he actually answered the phone.

Wish I read these reviews before I became a victim. Terrible experience, would NOT return or recommend. 6 month turnaround for simple repairs that were supposed to take 2 weeks. He was unable to even find my shoes for several weeks after I stated I didn't even want the repairs done anymore, I just wanted my shoes back. It was difficult to find him in the store during posted business hours and near impossible to get him on the phone.Do NOT pay upfront because if he holds your shoes hostage, you'll never get your money back! He has a sign that demands payment because people dont pick up their shoes - I do not believe that!! He became agitated when I asked what his policy was for lost shoes, near aggressive. He eventually found my shoes and completed the repairs at a discounted rate - I wouldn't have paid him any more than what he charged me at that point any way. VERY glad I didnt pay upfront, he's not getting paid because he does very bad business. There is no filing system for shoes, they're just in piles all over. The few times I caught him in the store over the months I tried to get my shoes back, he had excuse after excuse. It would have cost me less in convenience to just buy a new pair! -12 out of 10, BEWARE, go elsewhere.

I have done business with Michael's Shoe Service for years. He is very nice to work with, and does great work. You would never know the shoes and boots were ever repaired. When I have an event where I need something quickly, he has always come through. You don't find good personal service like this anymore.

Sadly despite the guy being nice and authentic, u have to give not 5 stars bc his hours are difficult. Hard to reach him, usually voice-mail and many reasons why each day I try, it's closed. He is honest though and will tell you if can't fix your shoes. It is slow turnaround but I have never asked for it to be expedited so maybe that's possible. Parking can be a pain if busy weekday
