I had a lift kit installed on my truck at Capital District Truck Center a couple of years ago and was initially very happy with the installation. I take very good care of my truck, which has less than 20,000 miles on it. However, recently, I experienced a broken strut and took my truck to another mechanic for an inspection. They refused to work on my truck and advised to contact Capital District Truck Center again, as they had installed the lift kit. I reached out to Greg, who told me he would call me back by the end of the day but never followed through. To make matters worse, when I told him what had happened and being without a vehicle, he seemed to dismiss my concerns, asking if I was aware it was the holiday season.
After having my truck towed to another mechanic who also installs lift kits, I was informed that there were no lift blocks installed on my vehicle. This omission caused the lift kit to put excessive stress and wear on my struts. This mechanic had my truck fixed within a couple of days regardless of it being the holiday season. While I understand that this may not directly be Capital District Truck Center's fault, I am disappointed that the lift kit they recommended and installed did not include the necessary components to prevent these issues.
While the initial installation was good, the lack of follow-up and unresolved issue left me with a negative experience.The mechanic who fixed my truck said that $2,000 was quite expensive for having this lift kit installed, and that it was a lift kit package he didn't really care for.

Wow, I really wish we'd found this place 6 months ago. They did outstanding work restoring the suspension on our van (a small RoadTrek RV built on a Chevy 3500 van chassis). From the initial estimate, which involved putting it on a lift so we could get under it for a good long look, to picking it up, everything they did was first-rate, professional, and on-time. They said they'd need it for 5 days, and that's exactly what happened. A couple minor, unrelated things that needed fixed, they just took care of. They put it up on the lift again to show me what they'd done.It was a big job, involving undoing some earlier work that turned out to be a disaster, but now we have a lift kit, air bags, new springs, etc., all very cleanly installed and the van drives and tows like a dream. (We weren't sure we'd ever feel safe driving it again after the earlier work by someone else, but now we have no doubts.) They were very good at communicating what was going on, and invited us to drop by anytime to see the progress. We'll definitely be using them again.

Nice and friendly professional team to do business with. Clean environment. My original plan going into the project was to have my truck lifted, balloon tires, front and rear bumper. This could have been accomplished if I wanted to break the bank and have the wheels and tires changed, however, I did not budget for that. The team did work with me and provided a few tips and adjustments to get the look I visualized without breaking the bank. I am happy to say with just a couple of more tweaks, the set goal will be accomplished. Being a female and the first time experience with this type of project, my advice to anyone who has a vision for what they want, however, is not familiar with terminology and the different decisions that will need to be made is to do you research to be better prepared.

Would not recommend. They told me all parts would be in stock with no back order. All was a go so I had him order the parts. Shortly after I get told parts are back ordered and as I called to check availability of the parts he gave me a bit of attitude. I had to reach out to his distributor myself to find out the parts wouldn’t be available and asked for a refund. After 2 months of waiting on parts that would not be coming and 3 weeks of waiting for my refund. I definitely would recommend getting your work done elsewhere!

Doesn’t have the customers interests in mind just wanting to push the most expensive thing even if it isn’t the best option. Excessive mark up on all their parts, guess thats how they’re paying for their new shop that they CAN’T even fill with mechanics
