Took my cat to get spayed and shots. They were very kind, and did a great job with her. No ill effects after her procedure.

16 years ago we went to find a new cat her name was(mallow). To fill a void for a cat we had. Mallow was three yrs old when we got her. And the staff said no one had adopted her and she was the house cat. My daughter fell in love with her as did her siblings. So we adopted her she was a spoiled cat with many toys and cat trees. At 19 years old she pasted she was the best cat ever. Never thought I would replace her. But one day I went into visit and the staff told me about pet bereavement group. Which I was very thankful for. I have since adopted another cat (Kovu ) from the APF of Schenectady this last summe. The staff was very helpful and patient, you can tell they really care about the animals there. If you’re looking for an animal please consider adopting an animal from here or another shelter. You’ll be getting a life loving friend and be giving an animal a home. Please be patient with you new friend, they be though a lot. Loss of familiar surroundings, family who cared about them loved them, when you bring them home remember It’s a new place for them. So give them time to get use to there new Environment. And you find a loving new friend. Kovu was nerves at frist but he warmed up and he now has a dog brother .and is a full blooded member of our family. He s very loving. Again I would like to thank the staff for their caring and help with Kovu. You can’t find more helpful staff.

We had a great experience. The APF took wonderful care of our cat, Monty. They were professional, friendly and gave thorough aftercare instructions regarding his surgery.

I get my pets altered here. I've been here twice with 3 cats, and the staff are great. Very informative and are eager to answer any questions you may have about the procedures. They even have discounts if you receive certain programs.
There are also many fur babies looking for great homes here.
Adopt don't shop!

This place was recommended to me. So I gave it a chance to spay my cat that I inherited after my father passed. Drop off was fine. When I went to pick her up, I was told I had a $5 balance because they “found fleas” on her. Which I know was bull bc there were no fleas on her that morning. Seems them putting all the cats in the same room at drop off can lead to infected cats to affect the other cats , so they decide to just treat them all. But they need to be honest about that part. They also didn’t trim her nails even though I was charged for it. So it seems they try to make a small profit from charging people for unnecessary things and charging people for things and not actually doing it. I will not be going back.

Gosh I love this place. The nicest dog kennels I've ever seen. Many cats also. Very accommodating when trying to see if your current pet will get along with a new addition. Most reasonable spade and neutering in the area.
